Looking for Narrow & Long Box for Cargo Van cab chassis.

19 grand for a habitrail sleeper ?? And a canvas side so called box? Absolutely ludicrous! Yes, it is a volatile van market right now. Unpredictable. Especially the way this country is going. I can't encourage enough to get and stay out of debt as quickly as possible. And used vehicles are...

    Cross Contamination of Commodities

Yes, you are correct. Separate trailers should be used to haul those commodities. I expedite in a van. I strongly feel that hazardous chemicals should not be hauled in any van, regardless how well sealed a bulkhead may be. I hauled a load of metal parts in open metal bins that were freshly...

    Load One 2021

Yes, it is, but so much easier to work on the Econoline engine than a Transit, or any other new van, that doesn't have a removable inside engine cover. The Econolines are so easy to work on. It took him 1 hour to change the plugs and coil packs. Pretty impressive being as how the plugs are in a...

    Load One 2021

Apparently #2 coil.pack was not firing all the time, there was a dead spot in it, causing the misfire, giving the false slipping transmission feeling. So, we replaced all the coil packs and spark plugs, which had 178,000 miles on the plugs, and over 308,000 miles on the coil packs.

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

Lol...Greg, I was just kidding around. Actually, a box truck was always referred to as a " straight" truck ( because they didn't bend in the middle) since the early 70's, way before any expeditor sleeper equipped straight truck was built. Ask any old school truck driver who drove back than...

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

That was the best advice given right there. This is an excellent job for a single, divorced person, one that chooses to be alone. But, a father and husband? You may as well start to get them divorce papers in order. A woman needs something to hold other than a phone at night.

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

True. But not all companies require a van to take a physical, unless they are still a cdl holder and choose to keep that cdl while driving a van.

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

It amazes me how so many try to go into this business so underequipped , as you have stated.. I see so many vans out there that are a 2 skid capacity van, or a 1500, 150, half ton grocery getter...low roof.. why limit your freight and comfort possibilities? Why be uncomfortable and do the duck...

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

I never mentioned dock height. If you are in a straight truck chances are you are dock high. But there are a few that are not. Most expeditor straight trucks, are dock high. Why would anyone buy one that is not in this industry?

Cargo Van Need Advice! Given a Opportunity I believe.

Well, believe what you may, but there is a massive difference between a $printer and a Ford and a Chevy,, In every aspect. The cost to purchase, maintain, and operate a Sprinter is astronomical compared to a Ford and or a Chevy. Yes, Dodges are not the best, in my opinion. They may be cheap...

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

Most otr straight truck boxes are 22' in length. As long as the boxes 102" wide, what difference does it make as to if it is a 22 or 20' inside length? You will still only get the same amount of full sized skids in there. The same goes with a 24' or 26' long box. You'll still get the same amount...

26' Box, stay in SC or head to midwest?

Unless you build a dot regulated sleeper in the box. Requirements are in the dot green and white rules and regulations book on what is needed to build a legal sleeper. I built one in my old Kenworth. Best truck ever. Should of never got rid of that truck.
