Left Behind…

The horror stories are abundant and some of them are down right funny as long as I am not a participant in the happening.   Co-driver watching forlornly as the truck leaves the rest area wishing they had grabbed their cell phone before they got out of the truck.   Drivers talking about being an hour down the road and realizing they are missing someone.   A QUALCOMM message telling them to go back and get their partner as the police have called the company and had a message sent to the truck.   The list goes on and on about how this has happened.

We have a plan in place and one we both strictly adhere to at all times.   When we are on our way somewhere and the person sleeping wakes up and decided to go inside to use the facilities we have a code signal.

Our signal is the sleeper curtains are left open and a backlight is left on.   This is very noticeable to us as we always have the sleeper curtains closed when the other is sleeping.   We also always take our phone with us.   Others I know leave their shoes on the passenger side floor and if the shoes are gone so are they.

You might think this only happens at night and that would not be true.   It is just as easy to leave a partner inside in the daytime as well if there is not a signal.   Before it happens to you come up with a plan and stick to it or you will be telling us your funny/horror story as on down the road.
