Many Open Forum readers know Glen and Janice Rice and about the accident that ended their expediting careers. While the Rices continue to struggle with the injuries and aftermath of the accident, a new challenge has risen.
On Tuesday, doctors will do major surgery on Glen to remove and examine an orange-size tumor. Glen says the doctors are calling it "suspicious tissue in the pancreas." They will know more after surgery. This is as serious as it gets but not hopeless. A number of treatments may be available, depending on what the doctors learn Tuesday.
Please include the Rices in your prayers this week and next. Glen will be sedated for a few days after surgery and will remain in the intensive care unit for over a week.
