Expediters know there are many things they can do to improve their expediting skills and thus the results they produce in the business. Such things include:

- Do a proper study of your past loads to improve your load-acceptance strategy.
- Review your loads from last year to determine the best days of the week to be available.
- Learn how to use a spreadsheet to better analyze your business.
- Research 10 fuel-saving techniques and apply the one that is best for you.
- Re-read the materials you received at orientation to gain deeper insights into your motor carrier.
- Learn how to make minor repairs on your truck that will save you money over the years.
- Read a book about people skills so you can better interact with dispatch and customers.
- Go to the Expedite Expo, not to just wander around, but with a self-improvement plan in mind.

The list goes on.

All such things require you to do something different and better than you do now. Crossing that bridge requires willpower. Every expediter knows there are things he or she can do to improve results. Often, the challenge is finding the willpower to do those things.

If that fits you, check out this thread: Your Motivation and Willpower
