Great story! I love the fact that we are equal in this field and age has no discrimination. To a dispatcher or company a truck is a truck there is no preference on who is behind the wheel. Just do a good job and get the job done.

I tried to get a local dump truck driving job when we came off the road. Seems our area of eastern NC just doesn't think a "girl" can do that kind of work. Hubby and I both went into one of the local concrete companies and they were under the assumption that I wanted an application for the office. While home, whenever I went out I kept an eye on the local truck drivers, and in 4 months, I saw 1 female driver. It was kind of comical actually.
