I run 4 of these trucks. The fuel mileage is 10-11 1/2 mpg. They have nice bunk areas, portable ac mounted to wall, vented out the side, converters, generators. Yes, the payload is 3500 lbs max for these trucks.
One of the problems is that a lot of shippers, ( I know this first hand ) Want us to haul over weight.
I have to call B_LLSH_T on you on several counts!
First of all, there is NO WAY your trucks weigh less than 6,500 lbs. outfitted as you state, with a driver in it. IMPOSSIBLE!!! I build trucks and THE ONLY WAY your trucks have a tag that would SUGGEST that you might be allowed to carry 3,500 payload you state is ONLY if you had the original COMPLETED VEHICLE STICKER on the trucks, which would show either 12,300 GVW (GM) OR 12,500 GVW (FORD) WHICH WOULD REQUIRE YOUR TRUCKS TO LOG AND SCALE, REMOVED!!!!!!!!
I build trucks and nobody should drink your Kool-Aid!!!!!!
You must have removed the Box Manufacturer's Completed Vehicle Certification from the box, which is very illegal unless you, or someone else who did SUBSTANTIAL WORK on the truck, is CERTIFIED BY THE US GOVERNMENT AS QUALIFIED TO BE A COMPANY ALLOWED TO COMPLETE INCOMPLETED VEHICLES, PUBLISH AND PLACE (CERTIFY) COMPLETED VEHICLE STICKERS, (UPFITTER) ACCORDING TO LAW, ON YOUR "LEGAL" TRUCKS!!!
You are lucky most DOT officers don't know what you are doing. Give me 5 minutes with a competent DOT officer on each of your trucks and I'll bet they are all red tagged. Want to bet??? I have money.
If I followed my Incomplete Vehicle tag, my E350 cutaways can carry 5,600 lbs. Cargo each and still be legally under the 10,000 GVW Log & Scale limit, which is STUPID.
THEN YOU BLAME SHIPPERS FOR WANTING YOU TO HAUL OVERWEIGHT!!! WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE STUPID AGAIN?????
YOU state what weight you can carry in your trucks, THEN THERE IS CONTACT BETWEEN YOU AND THE SHIPPER WHERE YOU AGREE WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WILL HAUL! IF YOU TOLD THE SHIPPER YOU CAN ONLY HAUL LESS THAN 1,500 lbs., either on the load boards or in your contracts, I doubt you would be in business very long at all. I think its much more likely that you show on the load boards that your trucks can carry at least 3,500 lbs. IN FACT, I'VE NEVER SEEN A TRUCK WITH THAT BOX SIZE LISTED LESS THAN 4,500 lbs on the load boards. What cities are your trucks resting in right now? I'll tell you what the capacity claims on the load boards.
I looked in the government lookup files and I couldn't find your company as a certified upfitter (qualified to do upfits and rerates). I want to file complaints against your upfitter. Please tell me who your upfitter is! I'm sure you won't mind complaints filed regarding your legal trucks. Thanks, but NO KOOLAID FOR ME!!!
That's my opinion and its worth what you paid for it.
