Here is what I HAD to say in one of those Anti-Israel / Anti-Jewish Threads that has become a Daily Main Stay around here:

HHmmm..............Let's see what has exactly happened around here in the "Soapbox" over the last couple of years........

You get a Few complaints that the "Soapbox" leans wayyyyy tooooo far to the right...............

2.....maybe 3.....Left Leaning Members.........small comparison to the 30-40 Members Posting in the Soapbox daily........want it to be more balanced............

Owners / Admins decide to promote one of the most <snort> controversial......irritating......left leaning Board Members to a "Moderators" position to basically "Clean House" to possibly even out the huge disadvantage the 2-3 Left Leaning "Problem Members" have been having down here in the Soapbox.

It took a while..........but that ONE Moderator has managed to not only run off MOST of the Right Leaning Members from Posting down here.............by means of Bully Tactics..........that not only included "In Your Face" threats out here in the open area........but also by blatant Mis-Use - Abuse - and Violations of the TOU this board has.

And.....On Top Of that..........he managed to pull some strings to get a Board Troll.......one that was banished permanently...........Posting Privileges reinstated.

With that pointed out...........we are now succumbing to what the End Results are with what Game Plan was enacted some 2 years ago..........

.......and that is a "Political Forum".......IE - The Soapbox..........being turned into a 1 Man Show.......who happens to be a GOOD Friend of said Controversial Moderator appointed some 2 years ago............that has turned this area into a Platform for that 1 Man Show to post article after article in SUPPORT of Terrorism...........Anti Semite rants..........AND Pure Hatred against a whole class of a HUMAN RACE.

Yeah..............Way to Go EO!!! Don't think I could've pulled it off any better myself...............It took time..........But the CHANGE you strived for has now taken place.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Enjoy the Fruits of Your Labor!!

Now how about just shutting down this whole Soapbox area........as many has mentioned before......BEFORE it brings a Reputation you'll have to defend somewhere down the road due to One Members Lunacy as of late...................

That's because there wasn't anything to copy and paste from other people's articles then passing it off as his own. I thought people were just being jerks about it but when you use Google to research something you will be surprised that you end up reading the exact same words. All the credit for his knowledge is misplaced as it is plagiarism. I don't know about you but when I started doing reports in elementary school we were taught that you always cite the article and give the author credit. Most here will use a more modern method and say I got this from this link to give credit but some feel better about themselves by taking credit for other people's work.

Well, since Ragman already addressed the whereabouts aspect, allow me to address what appears to be inherent or implied in this and your previous post:

You seem to be saying that since we have a member that is a citizen of, or hails from, a foreign country (and possibly of this one as well) that critical discussion of the policies, conduct, and actions of that country should be barred so as to not hurt someone's feelings ... or something ...

My question to you, is are you willing to advocate the same policy for say Iran ?

How about Pakistan ?

Saudi Arabia ?

Shoot ... let's just go for the most obvious one: the United States ...

I'm sure Admin here has a little more common sense with this issue than some others do.........

You might want to make it clear who exactly you're referring to, because the way I read it - in light of the quoted post that you are replying to - it appears that you are referring to me.

If that is indeed the case, please show an example of where I have failed to provide proper attribution for someone else's remarks and attempted to pass them off as my own.

IF and I say IF...moose was/is offended...he has the option of proving his point or leaving...what happens in the soapbox should stay in the soapbox...it is all OPINION nothing more and is subject to OPEN and FREE discussion at all times.....

That is why things will stay as it has morphed....for years the pedulum swung the other way....and now 1 has shown the fortitude to not be shouted down as a "Kool aide drinker" "rose coloured glasses" and all the other fancy metaphors that were tossed freely around...as the "other side" controlled the tilt of the forum....

I'm fairly new here, don't keep attendance, but wonder if the Soapbox loses more people than it attracts.

P.S.- If one is truly in the Expediting business, they will not leave behind all of the valuable information in this site due to the Soapbox. They will simply frequent the forum sections most helpful for them.
The frequent loss of members should be expected in an industry that has a frequent loss of drivers.

Agreed. One makes the choice, and then expresses disdain over the content. (not referring to the OP at all, BTW) See it all the time.

Beginning threads on the war in Vietnam every 2 days would have me a target, I'm sure. One ends up defending his/her stated position constantly.

absolutely nothing...a complete waste of bandwidth.....it does not encourage one person to do expedite..it actually detracts more then it encourages...

OMG....I leave for a couple of days and look at all the madness. Seriously, this is the "soapbox" . Which is by its very nature a exchange of ideas and opinions whether political or otherwise.
It is a avenue for expediters to share opinions on a variety of subjects and to kill time while waiting on a load, a repair, or really anything for killing boredom.
No need to complicate something this simple.
If someone offers a different opinion, then provide a alternative. How hard is that?
Just crying about something isn't likely to get you the desired results you seek unless you can provide an alternate opinion that others might agree with.
I have been on this forum for a pretty good stretch and probably have had a confrontational opinion with just about everyone on here at some point in time.
I am mindful that in 99 percent of the cases, I am always right.
But there is that one percent that you have to keep a open mind on and realize you may not be right. Sometimes Fox throws me off my game.
If someone offers a different opinion, sit back and really see why it is different and don't take it personal. In most cases I find I just might learn a thing or two whether I am right on a subject or not.
As for EO, its strength in this type of setting isn't reliant upon one individual whether they are a moderator or not. It has and still is the community at large that keeps it going.
