Ok while one of my businesses is a fitness center that i haven't worked out in over 3 years (lol I am a certified personal trainer also) and i do have a small gym in my home , and while I don't workout like i should, I am thinking i might get a "YMCA" Max memership again so that I can use the gym and showers at the "Y" when on the road.

Is this something that any of you do?

It's an idea, the issue that arises is the locations of the "Y"'s not being accessable to most expeditors. Many of the major truck stops have just recently begun putting in mini gyms that are rented by the hour. These should become as popular as the all-night donut shops that showing at many truck shops.

Chef, you'll find that what you are entering seems to have a way of interfering with most types of normalcy. Ya just can't have a routine, of any kind. IF your going to be around long.

Years ago when Roberts Express used to get loads out of Kokomo, In. and they stored many of us there for days at a time. Some of us went to the Y and got something that was called an away card, or something like, problem was, they wouldn't let you take showers there day after day. I believe they would only let you get something like 5 showers per location. Sure was a waste of membership dollars.

Here is Col once again talking about something HE HAS NOT A CLUE ON and is just rattling at the keys to rattle to dissagree.

When you actually know something Col feel free to chime in but when you do not shut the heck up.

Yes there poster, I have a Y membership and I do utilize them. Most are straight truck friendly a simple call to them and you will find out. Another piece of great equipment I use (Garmin) lists phone # and directions. Laptop does the same.

Gym, Sauna, pool, work out and get this A FREE SHOWER. I do this all the time and have posted SERVERAL TIMES but Col. chooses to not educate himself on things he knows nothing about, chooses to comment anyway.

Yes it works and it works best in early afternoons as that is when they are slowest, and Sunday while football and races are on. Watch for home team games as thats when the members are away from the gym. Great escape

Yes Broom, I understand that those of you that allow others to "pull your strings", allow you to have plenty of down time to dead head to gyms etc. The "free" showers with a "membership" sound enticing, after finding one, and driving there. If y'all have time for those types of things, more power to ya. Maybe be better tho, to hit the ball quite hard for a while, then you can take your camping machine with the shower attached any time ya want. Sounds wayyyy mo bettah to me. Catching on yet???

Smacking away at the keyboard, here at the Y.

Been a member for 22 years. Probably get to one at least once every 6-9 days or so and spend the majority of the day here. Maybe I just get lucky but ive found parking usually fairly adaquate [a call ahead would be advisable]. Many things to do at the larger facilities and a very welcomed physical relief for those who take care of themselves.

The Y offers solutions for membership payment [problems] if that's an issue. Just ask about the SPIRIT program. And the AWAY program allows usage at visiting facilities.

Call and get the full scoop at your local Y. I think youd be quite surprised how afforable the memebership is.

Why looky there Col. another member does the same. Let me see 3 to 1 in favor. And you wonder why you cannot find DRIVERS. Cause maybee in Laredo you want them to find a bush to sit under in July instead of running the AC, go figure. Business, Business, Business, yes most of us are out here to make an income, but keeping our health is just as important as making $ and to do so staying in decent shape is a concern to many more than you would ever even think of. (your opening comment) Whata gona do with all that $ later in life if your in such poor health cause you neglected ones physical fitness in lure of only making $. Its not the dissagreement on just this topic Col. its your whole attitude in showing your smarter by adding nothing but insults and rude comments to others questions as you feel your the all God authority on anything that might interfere with BUSINESS and income. (read your own history of posts)

Yeah Col. not all of us are as fortunate as you to have a Majic Wand to wave and find all that $3.00 mile load that you find ALL Of THE TIME. Or was that T hawk who told me about the .70 cent per mile runs you kept wanting to book only to keep him busy. But anyway since your the expert at everything you know best. Congrats there Col,
