Wow!!!

WOW!

It was a VERY fun, busy 3 days, LOTS of hard work and great times with good friends. The result was a just AWESOME Ducks Unlimited Spring Dinner. The dust has not yet settled but it would seem we have got close to setting a chapter record for fund raising.

The crowd was HUGH, with close too or over 1000 people in the hall. The food was good, despite one of the propane cookers catching fire and burning up. The stat senator and state rep who were responsible for the new Michigan DU license plate were there.

It was great to see many of my old friends, meet new friends and work our feet into the ground.

A VERY special thanks to the Monroe County Chapter's newest member, Slo-Ride. He put in a couple of grueling days for us and was a great help.

LOTS of new stuff coming down the road for Duck Unlimited and our chapter. It is a great honor to belong to such a dynamic chapter and organization.

Hopefully the politicians start to work on conservation more.

The politicians, for the most part, do nothing. Just about all of the true conservation work done in the United States, and North America in general, is NOT done by government, it is done by private citizens. It is also not done by "animal rights" groups or "anti-hunters". Those groups are useless and just cause trouble, often forcing the diversion of needed dollars from real work to fight bogus law suits. Next to the "anti's" government is the biggest force for stopping real conservation work.
