Woman attacked at Flying J Alorton Il

Last night a woman was attacked at the Flying J outside St Louis in Alorton Il. A black male wearing a green ball cap, heavy coat with hood attacked a woman in the parking lot beating her up and then stealing her car almost running her over as he drove off. www.kmovtv.com has a picture of the man and police are still looking for him

Thats Flying J is not a safe place, its close to East St Louis and every time Ive been there there are Bums in the lot begging Also Lot Lizards who are WORSE THEN UGLY, Ive even had them step up on the running board while sitting recording fuel etc...use caution down there, East St Louis has real bad crime and the State Police have been trying to help but they cant be everywhere, I use the Flying J off 270 and 111 its far safer...

At Alorton? I can see the Pilot at exit 4 fitting your description but the Alorton flying J is by far the nicest truck stop in the STL area as far as I know. Ive spent a lot of nights there and have never seen even a sign of lot lizards or bums. I really think you have it confused with the Pilot?

I hate to hear those kind of stories. I know many folks do not like to carry a weapon, but a small snub nose 38 is an excellent deterrent in time of need, u might not get a second chance to save yourself or a loved one, u b the judge. ps, carry 2, they are light.

My thoughts exactly. My wife and I both have small .357 revolvers for carry pieces. We use Speer Gold Dot ammo in them. I would NOT want to be on the receiving end of that.

Used to carry my ruger P90 .45 but got heavy..So got the springfield 9 mm xdm. Wife carries the s&w night guard 357

You can't come in here and say you are carrying or have a gun or guns in your truck...Come on now!! There are people in here that will earn you against having "mouthwash" in your truck..it MUST be the type with no "alcohol" in it...:rolleyes:

As fo the woman, thats too bad, and the "J", ive never had an issue there..but then i am old too....maybe its them "young good lookin truckers with clean "t' shirts that have the problems...:)

There are benefits to looking like me :) I've had a few shady characters look my way, but I look like too much trouble LOL.

I was just at that J last Saturday morn... seemed nice to me, but just shows to go ya, you can never relax your guard.
