Will this help Romney?

I just watched the video of his News Conference last night over these remarks......

Romney Holds Presser On Tapes: Obama's Plan "Attractive To Those Who Don't Pay Taxes" | RealClearPolitics

Honestly.....IMO......he wasn't strong enough when giving this news briefing......

I'd like to see him go all Chris Christie on the controversy over this. He was pandering to the questions.....Period.

I would've preferred to hear him say "Yeah.....I said it.....So What"........."If you can't handle the truth.....then don't Vote for me".

That in itself would've bolstered ones thoughts of him....and probably would've garnered him a whole lot more supporters than this little "explanation speech" he just gave.

When the country is down you need a president that is the tough talking, take charge kind of guy. He will ruin his opportunity to become that kind of leader because he is worried he will lose if he does.

I believe the issues are that this type of talk, although I agree with Briscoe on all points, would push the independents to Obama and cost him the election.

Scott

I don't think it will, those in the middle are sick of free loaders and when they vote they have the opportunity to express that feeling privately.

I don't believe he has the cajones to do it, but yeah, it would be good to see him actually stand strong, with conviction, for something, anything.

He has always seemed rather namby-pamby to me, pandering to whoever is listening at the moment. I heard someone on the radio call him Thurston Howell Romney; that about sums it up for me.

If this he how handles running the show, as CEO of his own campaign organization, I've lost a lot of faith that he can handle being CEO of the United States, which is pretty much what he has based his whole campaign on. "I'm a bidnezz man...I can do this. I think. Maybe..."

My opinion on it is I like what he is saying because it is to the point. There is no dancing around the possibility he might hurt someone's feelings which is what politicians normally do. This is the type of speech that would more likely get him support because you can tell it is honest and how he feels. When I listen to most politicians speak you can hear them sidestep the question and then the rest of what they say is considered a lie.

YUP. Agree!!!!

Too bad we don't have any adults running again this year. Just a couple of namby pamby kids. I MUCH prefer someone who is more 'in your face'. Even if I don't agree with them. I want to KNOW where they stand, so I know where I stand. So to our friends, and enemies. When neither our allies or advisories respect the president, we are in BIG trouble.

Why is it that the MSM is always telling us these "independents" are always getting pushed towards Obama by some policy or quote from the GOP candidate? We never hear any worry that they'll be pushed over to Romney because of the outrageous stuff and blatant lies told by Obama, Pelosi, Wasserman-Shultz, et al....

I am not sure what a truly independent voter is. A switch hitter? Someone who is easily persuaded or difficult to persuade? Uncommitted? Undecided? A professional decisionmaking procrastinator? Uninformed? Tuned out? Apathetic? Equally disappointed with both parties? Equally impressed with both parties? Waiting for the highest bidder? Ideologically challenged?

I am an independent voter. I am hardly easily persuaded. I have strong beliefs and am neither a Republican nor Democrat. I will oppose any candidate from any party that is opposed to my beliefs. I will support ONLY candidates that reflect my beliefs.

I know there is NO candidate that is 100% for anyone. There are, however, certain core issues, based on my core values, that there is no room for movement on.

As with many independents I am, for the most part, fed up with what is going on in government. Fed up with the corruption, the lies and mostly fed up with the trashing of the Constitution.
