Why does it have to be so ugly?

How do you have heat/AC/defrosters? Seems like it is not very practical.
You mean like motorcycles?

Other compressed air power cars carry their own compressor, and a small engine to run the compressor. On those models, the engine provides power for heat and air conditioning. On those models, kinetic energy from the wheels and the engine ensure the compressor is constantly refilling the air tanks, so distance is less of a problem.

Now, to make that engine air powered.

When I rode a motor cycle I only rode in summer. No need for heat or defrost. The range is not a problem most of the time. It is not practical for anything other than going to and from work or a trip to the store, IF you are not buying much.

I would never again own a motorcycle for a primary vehicle and can say pretty much the same thing for that roller skate. Anything less than a F250 would likely be too small for my needs.

The air cars are really designed for people who live and work in larger cities, not for commuters. They would also be popular in large retirement communities. My stepdad retired to a large retirement community in Florida (The Villages) and they all drive golf carts around the streets there.

They would work under those circumstances. They are not practical if one wants to do more than check the mail. One thing for sure, they won't pull my boat very far. LOL!!

A lot of corporations/governments/elitists would pay good money to see to it that this idea fails.
Probably, but with more than 13 companies working on air cars, including Daewoo, Pugot and Honda, they aren't likely to get their wish. The same technology is already being used in certain heavy vehicles for brake energy regeneration (developed in US government and industry labs, actually).

I use a scooter now to make the 17 mile drive from home to work in Florida. When it rains or if I need to show up well dressed for a meeting at a different location, I use a car. A little car like the AirPod would solve the rain issue and reduce fuel costs but AC is needed in the summer.

A more likely purchase is the Elio. This American-made "car" is due out soon. It has AC and the price and fuel economy are right. It will do nicely to drive back and forth to work and putt-putt around town.
