Why did men stop wearing high heels?

She forgot to add that impractical, uncomfortable, and [inappropriately] luxurious clothing announces a serious lack of common sense, too, lol.
I wonder why women who chose to adopt traditional men's wear didn't go with the necktie instead of the heels - it's just as ridiculous, but doesn't have such negative consequences as shoes that throw the spine out of alignment, and can eventually shorten the tendons of the leg. It's almost as crazy as the Chinese binding of feet. And the silly [extemely long & elaborately designed] fake nails that say "You seriously don't expect me to do something?"

But I wouldn't. Because it's just plain rude, with absolutely no reason.

Agreed..Neck ties are no match for 4 to 6 inch heels with legs attached to em..
Heels attached to legs? Nails or screws? That would just hurt.

Reading the article answered a question I've had for a long time, which is why these things were invented in the first place. It turns out that they were invented for an extremely practical reason, which is that it makes it easier to keep your feet in the stirrups while riding a horse. An archer on horseback is in a much better position to shoot if he stands, and the heels help him to do that.
For walking, it would be hard to name a more insane design than high-heeled shoes. They just LOOK uncomfortable. Hard to walk in, and God help the person who has to run in these things.

The high heels I used to wear on the fire line when fighting forest fires. No neck ties on the fire line.

Those are a LOT higher heels than any other boot I owned. Long breaking period on those, took months till I could wear them on a fire. Had to send in a tracing of my feet to have them made. The high heel helped a lot with traction on mountain rocks.
