This would be my dream. Age of the children would be important, once they get to be 11 or 12 I'd have to say they need a place to put down roots and form lasting relationships...younger kids, mostly everybody's a friend even someone they just met

I'd be 150,000 richer had I been able to but a supportive wife who was into it would be a must.

A team with 1 or 2 younger kids (school age) running a large truck, MAYBE. As you can see by the responses, not too many think it's a good idea, but I think it would give a unique set of experiences for the kids to carry through life, especially people skills. My kids are glued to tablets and phones and I have to daily drag them out back into the real world again (when I'm home that's is)

And there's no law saying you have to live at a truck stop, there's many truck friendly campgrounds out there.

Just another opinion.

Dogs are a lot easier to deal with!

The Caffees recently posted a thread about sleeping in a moving truck, listing some of the difficulties and how they worked it out. This was for 2 people living in a truck. The OP's plan is for 4 people in a truck. I don't know if his wife planned on driving also. Where and how do you plan on sleeping when it is your turn to sleep? What will the kids being doing and who will supervise while you sleep? The majority of my driving is done between 16:00 and 07:00. Most children are on 09:00 to 21:00 schedule. I sometimes find it difficult to sleep during the day even though I am tired. Two kids and another adult would make it near impossible for me.

I can't see this working in expedite. Maybe with a dedicated run on a regular schedule, maybe.

Wow I didn't expect this much input this fast .....thanks I like to hear others option

It seem most think its a bad idea to try it and there are a point or two that would have to be dealt with like doctors visits when anyone gets sick and socializing is always a problem even when your not on the road (people are a little nuts sometimes) and YES dogs would be easier

Does anyone know a family that is running with their kids part time and how they do it short term

PS the pic are funny
