Driver who hit CTA station dies :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State .
We may never know the real story here but there are several warnings to heed . Never use another person's prescription drugs or give your prescriptions to someone else . Note the victims' families are suing the driver (now his estate ? ) as well as the carrier . This shows incorporating or forming an LLC will not protect your personal assets if you act negligently as a driver .

it's not over till its over

I do not know of a way to protect the driver him or herself.I have had my LLC sued because of a driver that was not myself.the LLC was worth its weight to me because in court cases I have as of yet lost one dime.

I will say in the the state of delaware it is not required to list any owners names when forming an LLC.

and if your names not there who do they sue?

all I really care about is being able to cash checks I dont need no loans and I can appoint a treasurer by use of a banking resolution.

you can also obtain authority under that LLC.
most people screw up by putting there own personal name as the legal name and try to use the dba and thats not the way to do it just use the llc name as the legal name and dont put anything as the dba.

again this wont work in all states because most require names of people when forming an llc.But not delaware.

I dont do it that way to commit fraud I just dont think anyone needs to know the king or queen and my pawns dont have anything anyway.I dont know that a driver can be protected or that he or she should be after all they will be the one to screw up.and I will or would have lost the truck and income from it so why should I pay.
but I dont have to loose anymore sleep over it cause I now have no assets on the road.
like others on here say you should always consult your atty.

This case is a prime example of why drivers, owner operators and dispatchers should live by the regulations - such as Hours of Service, vehicle maintenance and the like.

Regardless of how good the safety department is at any company, we can not be there holding the hands of others. It is all to easy for people to ignore these regulations, but few folks think about safety until something like this happens. Know that if you violate some of the regulations (like HOS) and have an accident like this (yes, it can happen to YOU) that you will face some very serious felony charges, jail time and fines. The risks associated with violating the regs are NEVER worth the possible consequences. I am not speculating that the Whiteline driver did anything wrong - the wreck could have been caused my some medical condition. My comments will hopefully spare an expedite driver from a similar experience.

It is sad that innocent people lost their lives as the result of an accident, including the Whiteline driver. It will be interesting to learn the findings of the accident investigation.
