Which truck???

I have a choice between (a) 2 regular expedite trucks, or, (b) 1 reefer expedite truck.
Same year trucks, roughly same mileage.
Question: Will the reefer generate as much income as the two regular trucks?

what company is involveed?

what year rucks and what engines and transmissions?

what years are the trucks and the mileage?

what sized sleepers and ammenities?

The reefer is an "04 Peterbilt 330, 400k miles, 10 speed, 106" sleeper

The other two are "05 freightliners, M2, 200K miles, 6 speed Eatons, 84" sleepers.

Other things being equal, (which they never are) will a reefer generate twice as much income as a non-reefer?

The carrier is Fed-Ex

depends on the driver qualifications, and weather, or not they will be run as a team. In general thou 2 is better than one if you are a fleet owner.

Others may or may not agree with me, but I would have oil samples pulled and analysis done on them and the trucks dynoed before making a decision. Have you had an opportunity to inspect the trucks and maintenance records on these trucks? Your driver might want the Pete now, but if it turns out being a P.O.S. that sits in the shop all the time you could wind up with an empty P.O.S. truck. Just my thoughts. Also how many hours are on the reefer, and what kind of work has it been doing? Has it been running on continuous a lot or has the reefer been used sparingly over it's lifetime? That is more info people with the knowledge may need to help you make a good choice. The more info you can provide on these rides the better someone can assist.

I don't know FedEx that well, but my understanding is for a truck, especially a reefer, to generate a decent amount of income(I know decent amount is relative) it must be team driven. Others can correct me if I'm wrong.
