new to expediting and am looking at three companies. Need to see if anybody has good or bad to say about them. Nations Express, RJR Trucking and FedX Custom Critical.

Before you can get useful comments you have to tell if you are looking at solo or team and what size truck. Those are big factors with which company decisions. You also should read back at least a year in the general, newbies and recruiter sections because you'll learn a lot about various companies and a WHOLE LOT about expediting in general.

I agree with Leo, what truck etc. I also agree that you should read back as far as you can. No one company fits everybody. We run for FDCC and they fit us well. Are they perfect? No, but then, neither is any company. Good luck, read this place often. Throw out the "you will be broke in ten minute" gang and the "you will make a million in a week" gang. It is work and a VERY different life style. It works for some and not others. Some do better owning a truck, others like to drive for an owner. We started with an owner and then moved on to our own truck. I do feel it would be wise to start with a owner first. Then decide from there. Layoutshooter

A little bit confused.

You're looking possibly to sign on with either "Nations Express, RJR Trucking or FedX Custom Critical" ?

You have no experience.

mogwassi: "have been running team for 4 yrs for a major carrier, averaging 5500 per week"

I'm assuming the last sentence means the truck with last team was averaging 5500 per week ?

Which carrier was this truck signed on with ?

With any carrier 5500 per weeks darn good income.
At 40/60 you gotta be making close to $1,000.00++ each

Realistically to make $1,000++ each per week every week would be a lofty expectation.

And if this truck is making that kind of income why would you be
thinking of moving it elsewhere ?

Julie, where you been??? 5500 a week should be closer to 2K a week each driver at 40%. Been reading your posts, an i'm certainly happy to see a nuther resident expert joining our midst. Keep up the good work.

Yup, at $2.00 per mile you'd be correct.
But figuring the not so consistency of
pay per mile I made extra effort to add
$1,000.00++. And I made that reference
not once but twice. $1,000.00++

And youve read nothing that ive ever
written that even came close to me
making statments that im an expert
in this field. Thats an absolute false
implication.

But I understand :) your intent :)
