Where is everyone at?

One of the things I most enjoy after a long day is to sit back an read and see what everyone else has been doing, but for the last week it has been real slow in the forums, just wondering where everyone is, are you working, taking time off, or just not been posting and replying?

This week one of the most important topics I felt that I have seen in a while waws posted on here and as f last night only 3 or 4 responses have been posted to ( possible changes to HOS) I was really looking foward to reading what everyone had to say about it...but no responses?

Any back to my topic, where is everyone this week?

Well I'm here, in California.

Some people didn't take my advice and still came here.

Tomorrow I am going back up to Napa to visit some people I met in Hollywood and than back to sitting it out in Oakland waiting for a load.

Glad everyone is having a great time there (typing this in an envious way), but I can make it if you keep it going until Tuesday, is that ok?

Well another year being somewhere else that is not there, maybe next year.

Well... it was close to being poker night at home, and the engine asked me if it could go out in the middle of a run, and I said ok. The owner doesn't know I gave it permission tho, so shhh ;)

We are home. Picked up in Akron, delivered 42 miles from home. Staying put for a couple days to go through mail and do truck maintenance. Otherwise, we'd be running.

We are at a KOA Campground outside of Kansas City, Mo. Lying by the pool and kooling it for the weekend. Tonight we are going to the Casino and blow a few bucks.

Got the Packvan washed this morning and oil changed. Plugged into shore power at the KOA and giving the truck a well deserved break. Not to mention us needing a break!

Now be it our luck we'll get a run this afternoon and all plans will change. Oh well,so be it. Always seems when you want a run it won't happen, and when you don't want one it happens! That's why I leave my golf sticks at home. Nothing worst than being on the 3rd tee box and get a load offer with a quick pickup time.

Well I too got a run, on the way I stopped off in Napa, had a great lunch with some nice folk in an open air kitchen (wish I could get one of those at my place) and then off to my drop. The food was great and being in Napa, I took the opportunity to trash California wine - seeing some in my family are wine producers in the old country. However I did sample some really fine juices and teas while I had the chance.

Dropped off right on time and felt really depressed because I missed the Expo, so I punished myself by dropping by one of those walk in testing centers and upgraded my amateur radio license. Out of ten people taking the test, only 3 of us passed, so that made me more depressed!

Now off to get dinner and more punishment at the movies, too depressed to even care which movie I go see. ;-)

So Greg, I guess you took the lil short run from Fremont yesterday and delivered in Healdsburg this afternoon? I was thinking earlier you may have been the "C" that took a load to El Segundo last night. I was on the San Jose board yesterday and that Healdsburg load would not have been too bad for me since I live in Sebastopol, 22 miles away. But you did have dwell time on me. I see that a 2nd "C" checked into Oakland latter this afternoon. I need to take care of some business in Oakland Monday morning and will be going down there Sunday night and will be parked by the Dennys on Hegenberger by the Oakland Coliseum. If you are in the area and wanna say Hi on Monday morning you might see me. I am the only "D" on the San Jose board now and see that there is you and one other "C" on the Oak board and one "D" on the Reno board. N Calif was a bit crowded earlier in the week but has thinned out nicely

Jack,
Now that you figured everything out....:)

Yes I took that run, but it picked up in San Jose, no where near fremont, did they offer it to you? I used it to get me to my test, kind'a nice so to speak - not a lot of money but it paid the fuel bill.

I ended up in Petaluma (SP?) at the park taking my test, rather like the area and now I am sitting north of there waiting for food to get here.

I did do the Napa thing because of the time I had to kill, which was really nice and a change from that San Diego/LA runs I have been making.

I may head back down into Sunnyvale tomorrow (supposed to be cooler there than here) so I can sit around in the shadows of Yahoo! - don't know yet.

If I get a chance I will stop and and see you - thanks for the invite.

Hmmm north end of Petaluma? Were you at the Henny Penny restaurant? They have a truck friendly parking lot. As far as staying cooler, it is 15 degrees hotter in Sunnyvale then San Francisco. There is a truck stop off Grand ave in S San francisco on hwy 101. You need to bundle up at night to stay warm there. You would just stay on 101 over the Golden Gate and thru the city.
As far as yer load, yep got my P/U town mixed up. You had a big 47 pound load out of San Jose and delivered at 110 this afternoon. Take care, maybe our paths will cross
