When is the nightmare going to end?

Fisher-Price, a unit of Mattel Inc., on Tuesday took the wraps off T.M.X. Elmo, ending months of unprecedented secrecy that's had the toy industry abuzz. Until the unveiling, only about 50 people had seen it. He's still red, fuzzy and really ticklish, but now Elmo's laughing fits have him slapping his knee, falling to the floor, rolling over and pounding his arm.

Greg, you've totally lost me on this one - what's the problem with that? It sounds like fun, even if the Do-Not_Call list means I won't get to hold him to the phone when soliciters call...:)

Sorry Cheri, some can relate while others don't get the problem. A number of years ago I was given the task to find 100 elmos for a charity. I went to the ussual places and secured about 77 of them. towards the holiday I had to get the remaining 23 of them and went to the local Toys - r - Us. When I started to take 10 off the shelf, I was accosted by some kids and mothers who thought I was going to take all of them - I got pelted with a hard ball and run over by a shopping cart - no really it wasn't like that, they were upset that Elmo may not be there.

Well when these were very popular, many parents were going mad trying to find them for their kids. Some parents turned to nasty tactics for taking Elmos away from other parents, sometimes taking them from kids standing in line - all in the name of pleasing their kids.

The thing is the devils tool and I feel made to sprial civilation into chaos - destroy elmo!
