After you accumulate your 1st million
I've been doing this 14 years and like to think I have finally graduated from newbie to intermediate idiot.
After you accumulate your 1st million
I gave up on my 1st million and started on my 2nd.
I'd have to say that is closer to the truth....lolI've been doing this 14 years and like to think I have finally graduated from newbie to intermediate idiot.
Acutally I was looking for a specific and valid answer
Then a newbie is one who makes the same old stupid mistakes and an intermediate idiot makes new and different mistakes.I do some idiotic things I never did when I did not know so much....

To think: I managed in half that time - guess I've been on the half fast track....
If you're still trying to figure out the basics after a year, it doesn't mean you're still a newbie, it means you're either stupid, or astoundingly unobservant, or both.
In Sports a Rookie is no longer a Rookie after a year. I wouldn't say that is the case in Expediting. You may never have a date that you are no longer a Newbe. When you can:
Make it beyond pay day to pay day
Know when and where to move to get loads
Know when to drop and stop or turn and burn
Know how to manage your business
Know when to take a run to make money not miles
If you have repairs, it will not put you in a bind
Have cash on hand, know how much
Know how to work your carries system
There are some out here that have been doing this for years and still live pay check to pay check. They turn down short runs in order to cherry pick the good ones. Keep in mind that two short runs could lead to more long runs. If freight is slow then the short ones could make your week much easier to live with. Take runs that work for you.
