>Stuff in boxes, banded to pallets.

We carry a lot of pallets banded to boxes.

For the benefit of any aspiring expediters eavesdropping on this thread, a comment or two is in order.

There is a good reasonm for the ambiguity in the answers to Firegear's question. Many of our carriers' customers pay a premium dollar for a premium service which includes a driver's non-commital comments regarding types and ammout of cargo, destination or routes travelled.

Gosh. For this summer I'd say printed matter. During this spring it seemed to be audio/visual and/or band equipment. That's just what sticks out in my mind atm.But in general, I really don't see any real significant amount of one commodity over another.

I'd like to haul more of those "boxes banded to pallets."

I bet i can answer most peoples and say automotive freight. That made up most of ours when we hauled "general dispatch" but now that we are (edit) we seem to haul mostly (edit) it seems. But everyone is different, (edit). Just the luck of the draw.

And for areas most commonly in. I would say Califonia right now. I've visited my friend in Sandy Eggo quite a few times. Heck i might see him in a few days again...

Neon do you really think it is a good idea to comment on the sensitive freight that you are hauling on an open forum on the world wide web?

I just think that would greatly increase your risk factor, plus the fact that you are also identifying your carrier and your unit number.

It's a different world that we live in today, and the terrorist threat is a part of that and will be for a long time.(if not forever)

I would be greatly surprised if you were NOT contacted by your company regarding your comments here on EO,and possibly by government agents.I guess common sense is not so common anymore.DD.

Not only does neon tell us what he's hauling....he gives us his MySpace link so we can go see HIM and HIS TRUCK. SMOOOOTH. Like DD points out, I'm not sure that's such a good idea. Do you really want it known that you haul mostly (edit) so that people know EXACTLY who and which truck to look for?? He then goes on to tell us that he "MAY" see his friend in California in the next couple of days.

It must be nice to be so young, and proud of what you haul for this country. The way you're going, it just MAY get you truck-jacked.....OR WORSE!!

Stew pid is, as what stew pid does, in the words of the Marathon champion, War Hero, Successful business owner, and all around good guy. Forrest Gump. I'm kinda wondering IF you still have a contract with your Carrier.

OK Folks!

I removed the specifics! Remember everyone, please speak of your freight in GENERAL terms only! Giving specifics of what you haul is not only a security risk, but can bring your company AND homeland security down on your head!

That's why this type of question is SO dangerous.

Dreamer,
I was very specific about what I haul, I wasn’t trying to be a smart a** about it.

Most of what I haul ARE boxes that are banded to pallets. Sometimes the banding is plastic but most have been metal banding. Sometimes it also is boxes are shrink wrapped, but a lot of times there is banding around that.

Most of the time I try not to say what I haul, but I find that many of the WG units I have run into were quick to rub it in about what they are hauling. If I mentioned what I had on my truck, it was long after it was dropped off.

On A/E loads, everyone should just be very quiet about those loads, but that is the security person in me.
