What's with Fed Ex Cust. Crit?

Menus, menus, menus. At least 15 or more recruiters, NONE of them answer when you call. Nor do they return your calls if you leave your info. Guess they're to high and mighty to talk to us little folks. Typical big corporate treatment, hell with them. Glad I don't have to work for anyone. They're all the same. Big corporate CEO's, they all live in a DIFFERENT universe. No wonder the U.S. economy is a disaster. I have 15 years experience OTR delivering RV's, and I can't get a person on the line. Guess it's their loss. F - em. If that's the way they assist potential drivers, I wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

I hope you do understand that if you drive a truck that has FedEx on the side of it, that does not mean you WORK for them....you are NOT a Fedex Employee...so their obligation to you is strictly to find you freight per the contract that either you or the contrator you drive for signs...nothing more....they are not your employer.....

My recruiter frequently answers the phone when I call and if I leave a message I never wait longer than the next day and usually hear back the same day.

With everyone working hard to advertise and sign on trucks it doesn't make alot of sense to not answer the phone or at least get back to someone quickly?

But why sign on more trucks?

The economy is not recovering, business is still way down and there are changes on the horizon, so why expand fleets only to have to pull back the size later on?

Your only other post was "Can this be done part time here from/on the west coast based in Southern California with a cargo van or sprinter, with a class C license (non CDL)?

Gary, Claremont, Ca."

Maybe thats why they have not contacted you. As a side note never heard that they have 15 recruiters.

Thats simple, when and if that happens ( Fleet reduction ) they can have a large group to pick the very best from.

Our recruiter and our contractor coordinator are very good at returning calls....usually by the end of that business day, or the next at the latest.

Regarding adding to the fleet: We remain very busy, and are what we consider the bottom rung. Why WOULDN'T they expand?

On that note, what's that thing where you take off your clothes and stand under a pipe with water coming out with some soap?

When we first started, we were warned there would be times like these. I'm ecstatic that they're here.

If even the slightest bit of the attitude in your post came through in the messages you left them I doubt they will ever call you back. Also if you read the qualifications on the web site it satates you must have a CDL.

If that's the way you feel about big companies why on earth did you call them anyways?

Maybe a smaller company is the way to go for you, I doubt you would be happy at the Fed.

Over the years we have dealt with different recruiters and I have to say that our recruiter Marc Hodges is awesome even to this day. When we first were making our decision on who to go with he was always very helpful and honest. We started in January and he was very blunt about the fact that freight was not good that time of year. He worked with us on getting ready for orientation and by the time we arrived at FCC we were very prepared and had no surprises.

I do not know the other recruiters but for the past 5 years Marc has sent potential O/O to us knowing that we would be honest and he would probably lose that recruit and that has happened. I would think he would be the same way with a new van coming on and be honest it is really going to be very hard to make a living.

I really cannot say enough nice things about Marc and how he helped us get started on the right foot and has continued to support us.

boy skywayne I have never seen a response like that in a while. The best part, the ones who disagreed with you the most are FCC drivers.Sounds like a pretty good testiment to FCC when given the anonymous oppertunity to trash the hell out of FCC every post was positive

Speaking as a "little folk"; I call FEDEX CC ,they return my call. I ask them to send something, they send it. I ask a question, they answer. If I don't understand, they explain. I went from a driver to an O/O. It hasn't all been "honeymoon" but nothing is. My wife and I have exceeded our goals and will continue to be a part of this industry as long as it meets our needs. Perhaps this industry dosen't suit you and you should direct your efforts elsewhere.

I suppose it is admirable for all you Fed Ex contractors to stick up for your company contacts; however, in the context of this post it is really irrelevant.

Skywayne is not contracted with the Fed. He appears to be an outside interested party calling for information regarding an opportunity that Fed Ex CC advertises.
This complaint has been brought up on this forum several times in the past. I too had the same problems getting intial responses from the recruiting department.
I hope that they read this forum and try to improve their ability to respond to those people who are interested in learning what they have to offer.
It is unprofessional to advertise a contact number and invite inquiries only to ignore them and not respond.

Kick it up a knotch Fed or suspend the ads!

Just my penny in the pond.

It is fully relevant. They weren't "my" company when I initiated contact and began dialogue with them to join. They were someone else's company. Based on the one side of the story we've received there was a problem however none of us who have said anything here were born contracted to Fedex so we all were interested outsiders at some point. If the same post were made regarding Panther or Express-1 my response would be the same. At the time I contacted them, the recruiter was professional and responsive to my inquiries.

I am sorry your experience with trying to contact a recruiter has been unfavorable. I have been with Fed Ex CC for about six weeks and am very satisfied. You are more than welcome leave me a message and I can try and help. I would hate for you to draw an opinion before you have a real chance to talk to someone. All I can say is that my experience with coming aboard at Fed Ex has been great. Hopefully I can Help :)

I was told by Fed Ex they were not taking on vans/sprinters and none of there van/sprinter fleet owners needed drivers, Tristate said they only want teams, no response from E-1, as for Bolt I did do that group meeting thing on the internet and talked to Anne on the phone but since then have no replies to any of my emails or phone messages. Landstar after applying online sent me formal application packet in mail and I have done Dot physical and drug screen and so far looks like going to orientation Nov 2 driving for a fleet owner

It all depends what kind of vehicle you want to put on. When I wanted to start into this business I called FedEx first. They weren't putting any vans on, so no response from them. I agree, it would be nice to get a call back with the 'sorry, we don't put vans on right now'. So, I called Panther and went with them, but still bothered FedEx once a month until they needed a van in Atlanta and they called me back.
Well, last month when I called them about a tractor they called me back the same day, and a week later I was in Green OH.
