So you reply to their texts, telling them you have no idea who they are, and to stop texting you, but for whatever reason, they don't get the message and they keep texting you.
Is there some crazy thing you would tell them that would finally get it through their heads?

Well, you cannot impersonate a federal agent.... but, obliquely imply a connection with the IRS.

Why don't you do what any rational person would do and contact your service provider and see if they can't fix the problem?

Obviously, you have never contacted MY service provider. It would be easier to put a bill through Congress than try and explain this situation to Verizon.

No, humor & shock were where I was going with this. They ignored my messages of, "I don't know you, so please quit texting me," so it's time to cause a little ruckus.

And as the dialogue from Stripes goes:

Even God apparently has a sense of humor, so I figure I can have one.

Funny you bring this up!!!!

Friday night I'm sitting there watching TV around 11pm.........Someone sends a Text saying "Hey J....this is Shaneeeequa......(or some stupid name like that)....my Test came back negative so come on over if you want too".

I ignored it and laughed......

5 Minutes later..............."Jermaine!!! Answer me.......I went and did what you asked!!!"

I ignore it again...................

15 minutes later............."Jermaine........you *****...........I didn't spend all day in that GD Clinic for you to ignore me tonight.........you want this kootchie or not???"

I text back......"This IS NOT Jermaine!!!! - Take your Kootchie Elsewhere"

Phone rings.........some Girl Obawa Supporter started screaming at me.......while at the same time some Jungle Music was blaring in the Background.............

I hang up and turn phone off......

Haven't heard anything since...................and I could rarely care less if Jermaine got any of Shaneeeequas kootchie or not.

Handcent is a text message app that will let you blacklist anyone you want. The blacklist blocks unwanted SMS messages without producing any notification (sound /light/popup) and hide these messages. I've been using Handcent since very early on the Droid, and it works great.

I haven't used it, but another very popular SMS app is GO SMS Pro, which also allows blocking.
