What Would you do?

A couple of days ago I was driving my Sprinter and noticed the police were ticketing trucks on a short part of Tomken Rd in Mississauga south of Eglinton Av which is a No Truck zone (except deliveries to those businesses there). Anywho on my way back to the area (less than an hour later) I saw this TT in the turn lane for this stretch of road and so I pulled up and told him of no trucks on that part of the road and that the cops were waiting there. He paid no heed and proceeded to turn. Yup the cop got him and ticketed him.

Now I know I look more like Joe the Biker and not Joe the Plumber (boy this guy gets around) and I wasn't in my striaght truck, but would you have heeded the warning?
Yes - No - Gave me the finger salute???

Who pays attention to us 4 wheelers? Its almost a 50/50 split we get no respect!!

At first I might have had some thoughts, but if it saved me a ticket, I would have been very appreciative. At least you tried to save him. That's all you can do.

Since they decided not to pay any attention to you I would just have to laugh at their stupidity. Next time a van pulls up to them with a warning they will take heed.

would you have heeded the warning?

Yes. And we would have thanked you. Someone in a four-wheeler who takes time to warn a trucker about tickets being written probably knows what he or she is talking about and is probably doing people a favor. However, in our case the warning would probably be unecessary as we tend to comply with truck restrictions.

The stupid thing about this particular part of roadway is there is a large sign after you exit the highway going east that says no trucks allowed on Tomken from Eastage to Eglinton. Now eastgate is the road going straight from the highway exit ramp. So not only did this guy not read the large sign he also ignored my warning. I know he didn't want to drive the mile furhter down to the next road.

I tried but oh well.

I think you stated it wrong. You should have said "and they are ticketing".

The guy probably had been through there a hundred times with no problems, and had seen police there before with no problems..
