What to do when this happens

Hello:

What to do if? I was at the DMV the other day I just wanted to know about getting tags for a Sprinter Van. I asked the DMV clerk how much would it cost to have tags for that kind of van. I gave her the weight of it and she still would not tell me. What she told me was that she had to see it first before she would know how much. I wonder how could I drive it without tags. Could anyone tell me if they are from the state of North Carolina. Thanks from Linda and Micheal :):(:D

Maybe the state or county's dmv website has the information you neeed. The criteria has to be written down somewhere.

Registration fees are not based solely on GVWR if under 10,000 pounds in most states. Model year and purchase price (for sales tax purposes) are major determining factors. When you said "What she told me was that she had to see it first before she would know how much." She probably meant she had to see some documentation, not the actual Sprinter. If your verbal skills are as poor as your written skills, then yeah, there is a whole lotta room for misinterpretation.

Hello:

I am sorry that was a bad writer but I was just asking on how to get the info. I am not ready now to buy but sometime next year I would be. I just can not drive to a dealer the only one is about 200 miles from me. Thanks for telling me I need to proof read better. Thanks from Linda and Micheal.......:);)

It wasn't a wise crack, it was some honest advice. If you read post 7 you will see he took it as advice and not a wise crack. If posters would take a little more time when typing, especially with fat fingers on smartphone keyboards and re-read before hitting the reply key, posts would be a little easier to read and decipher. I miss the "preview post" feature from the old system. I used it often. Now when I catch my mistakes after posting I use the "edit" feature.

Rude no matter how you cut it!

Do you consider anything in your reply to me to be rude?

As for being rude, how can you logicaly answer a question when it looks like it is written in some sort of code. I can understand A mixed up letter, I spell a third grader at times, or maby miss a word.
Obviously Moot was trying to give him some USEFULL advice so give him some slack.

I use a I-Phone App. Advanced Options does not give me an edit option. Once I hit send, I'm done.
It's frustrating to see mistakes I can't correct.

Ya know, Moot you really seem like a nice, knowledgeable guy! Why do have to be such an anal orifice? People come to you for advice, not to be put down or insulted!
I'll bet you wouldn't put up with somebody talking to you like that for 1 second! Why be so insulting and excuseing it as "Advice?" Not necessary!
Jumbuck!

Well, *********, I'll be dipped in horse**** if I can see where he's a bad speller! I had NO trouble understanding exactly what he was saying. After all, this is NOT Spelling and Grammar 101! I wish our politicians spoke as plain as he did.

I fully understood the op. My wife, a retired teacher, picked apart a sentence when asked for her opinion.
The op ranked very high if this forum were to become a class project.
There seems to be a need for a need for a Better Writing & Spelling Forum here.
The op would not be required to attend.

Jumbuck, where did you get the idea that Moose is a nice guy ?

Man, ya got a point there, but still, it doesn't hurt ANYONE to be nice and polite to someone who is merely asking a question from someone whom they think might be able to help them. I don't think he was saying, "Hey!" "I have a question, but please answer me in the rudest, nastiest, most downgrading way you possibly can!" This is a forum that is supposed to give help to each and every person in the expediting community, not insult someone just because of their spelling or grammar! Come on....

Thank you Bob for the tip! I just tried it and it works. I tend to shy away from computer stuff labeled "advanced". I always click the "recommended" option. This "go advanced" option should be re-labeled "preview" as it wouldn't scare thecnotards like me from clicking on it.
