& the load still needed to be there on time ?

My van broke down in a Toyota plant in southern Indiana. I was cleared to go to Dock No 4. Went about 1/2 block into the plant, turned right toward the dock and Poof, she died. Called security to let them know why I was sitting and for them to notify the dock and called dispatch to let them know and called AAA. Here comes the hook and put me on bed with the winch, hauled me to the dock where I was unloaded then hauled me many miles to Terre Haute to a Chev dealer. I have read on one of the forums that posters have seen trucks coming to the consignee on the hook.

I delivered one load with the van sitting on a flatbed, after the alternator went out en route, and there wasn't time to repair it. ConWay Now paid for the tow to the consignee.

I've never been towed to the cons, yet, but I've been towed a couple of times when not loaded. Once was in Ann Arbor. Tow truck driver said it happens all the time, that he tows trucks across the border to deliver loads, even.

had a load removed from me when a coil pack departed my engine in memphis. i was down about 8 hrs and another driver came and got the load. it was a 20# box that needed no special handling.
