The Olympic Torch arrived in SF and for some reason there is more security over this symbol of waste than there has been for any leader of any country in our history. I think if the Pope was in SF at the same time, he would have to take a taxi.

They have been trying to protect The Olympic Torch from people who are protesting the oppression by china of those horrible hate filled war mongoring Buddhist in Tibet. You know how much that guy the Dali Lama hates people and wants to rule the world? China may be right.

Does the torch represent anything we stand for like freedom of speech or expression? I say boycott the Olympics anyway - it is too political.

Yes I am being very sarcastic.

Most of the followers are very peaceful and you can learn a lot from the teachings. It does not seem to be a religion at all but more or less a way of life.

Well anywho.... I am tired of the media hyping the Olympics like it is important. And being in China, it is clearly political that they were chosen to host the games. Like when they decided to have Sydney host the games in 2000 instead of Greece. it started there, it should have been there but again it is all political.

Ironic isn't it...It's the first time the French have stopped anyone from running over their country!!!

Yeah usally the Brits and us have to come in and help them get their country back. I saw a cartoon that was in France at the outbreak of WW2. These Frenchen were saying it's better for us to surrender so then our Allies will fight harder. It cracked me up.

It's not even goinng to Canada. San Fran was it's only North American stop.

China to me is the dirt of the earth....WHY we even have dealings with them is mind boggling.

We are looking at it from the point of view as Americans. The Olympics are the same as the UN, anti-American. They IOC is only concern with money, they have been bought off by the Chinese for the Olympics and if you look at the amount of money they are getting, it really makes no sense why hold the games at all but take that money and give it to the people who deserve help.
