It's not unusual to find Memphis to be loaded with trucks of all sizes and vans. There are other metropolitan areas where you will find the same. I think it's the same for other carriers and has nothing to do with the new dispatch system.
Im sitting at the Petro and Herd a FECC Driver of a Bubble Truck start yelliing then he threw what looks like a key board out the passagner window of his truck. Its hanging by a cord. This is all too funney. I can't believe it.

Memphis is a good Express Center and the freight seems to pick up in the afternoon. Many drivers will head there after unloading within 150 miles of that Express Center, that may be the cause of so many trucks their today. I have seen many trucks there when I checked in and everyone got out that day. So keep you chin up and stay postive I'm sure you will get out of there.

Memphis is a staging point for all of us who have been enticed into taking loads to Dallas, San Antonio, Ft. Smith, Little Rock, Texarkana and points West.
We always seem to get moved back to Memphis. Of course, we then get to move to Nashville, Louisville, Knoxville, Lexington.....zzzzzzzz......wake me up when we finally get back into the freight lanes.

You know ice,if you spent more time worrying about yourself rather than the trucks in Memphis,you might not be sitting there with them.FedEx CC moves at least 15 loads a day out of Memphis,maybe 20,and weekends too.Marvin you know that

I'd think with the deal FECC has with Pfizer it would be pretty easy to get out. Plus all the other freight that goes out of there. At one point Memphis was considered the "Distrubution Center of the South".

What does Pfizer have to do with it? Pfizer will be cutting back soon anyway, they have issues with PGM.
I heard Pfizer has shutdown the Reno plant and now does truckload only out of Memphis...a BIG lose of business for the Feds
Don't worrie that would never happen.
Our one truck just did a nice Pfizer load out of Memphis, so I would have to say that it not the case. Since it was a C- load.

Reno? Oh the distribution center. I am surprised it lasted this long but I haven't seen that on any list of closures. You know that they still have a lot of stuff come out of NJ?
The problem is that they are going to close a lot more, they have been expanding manufacturing overseas but closing the plants here and in Europe. I understand they have a target of 40 plants, down from 93, few distribution centers and a few R&D centers, they are closed Ann Arbor, they are closing Frances (may have already) and Nagoya is gone.
I was chatting with a WG who was in Vegas and I said "at least they may DH you to Reno and he said nope it's closed down" It must of just closed recently....Now if the Feds loss LG...

yes they closed Reno,so now all the west coast Pfizer loads will be coming out of Memphis.Now you will see even more trucks in Memphis.
They also were supposed to go Truckload?
