Welcome to EO. You can seach many of the past posts on here to find out what your looking for. I would call a few carriers like Panther, Load One, Express1, Tri-State and Fedex Custom Critical to see what they have to offer or if they are signing on any Vans. I don't think Panther is signing on vans, but i'm not sure. Load One is looking for Sprinter and John Elliott Load One CEO posts on here all the time and can tell you if they are taking on Vans. Good Luck and once again welcome to EO.

What was your career before now? I suggest to anyone seriously interested in expediting to get educated about this career the same as they would about a career in mechanics or engineering or paralegal or anything else. Read back at least two years in the general, newbies and recruiter forums. That doesn't mean every word of every post, but read all of the threads that are on topics that catch your eye and all of the ones that appear educational in areas of company selection, equipment, time management, money management, etc. etc.. At that point you'll have a good idea of specific questions to ask and even whether you'll be interested in this career or not.

Where in Michigan? I will be home in a week. I would be happy to talk one on one. I live near Monroe. If you live near Taylor you could talk with John over at Load 1. Yes, he owns an expediting company but he would talk straight with you.

I could fill a book on this subject but the easiest thing would be to call me and I would be glad to give you an overview. I would not suggest using this van you mentioned but it may be a consideration. There are certifications and licensing you will need to complete first then chose a carrier.

What Certifications?
how about Haz Mat & CDL. They may or may not be required, but it wouldn't hurt to have them.

a cdl is a license, hazmat is an endorsement.

I wondering about A&E or Nuke or Art or Flat Bed or Heavy Haul - seems to me that when certifications are mentioned, they are one of those which is pretty much carrier driven.
