I had a Vuqube installed this past weekend last year i spent over 3 grand at idle air mostly watching tv as i have a rigmaster. Now i no longer need to hook up for anything. I have the auto srart on the apu and now with direct tv through VuQube i am in heaven. No getting out in bad weather setting up a dish or having a truck park in the way<< thats why i stopped using one 2 years ago

This is an interesting product, Scuba. I had not heard of it until you mentioned here. While details are on the VuQube web site, pricing info was not. May I ask what you paid for your system?

I've been using a Slingbox and get mostly good service from it however it isn't as good as this would be. I've been thinking about getting one of these and use the Slingbox as a backup for when bad rain in my location makes this unusable.

I finally made my mind up I am going to get one in april. I am in a van so I am just going to get another qualcomm bracket installed on the roof and then I will feel like a pig in "well you know". Now I will be able to get Dexter "best shotime series ever" out on the road, yee-ha:D:D

I looked at it last week and asked the sales girl what is the difference between this and the dish on my door?

...... then there was a pause.....

and then she said "you can use the remote to find the satellite and watch TV".

So I asked her again what was the finaical advantage of having a VuQube over my dish on my door?

She stood there dumbfounded and trying to figure out why I was asking the question.

I then asked her about the direct broadcast tv and she said I have to get a subscription for it.

Sorry but I am rather disappointedly with the salesmanship of the sales girl and I am cheap, I think that even at $500 for an antenna rotor in a box is a bit much to me when you figure that you still have to get the receiver.

I spent $1050.00 for the unit and to have it installed. Maybe a little high but i wasnt about to buy a ladder to just throw it away and i know i am to lazy to carry it around. Just being honest with myself. I used to do the mirror mount thing but is was a pain in the butt high winds would move it if it was raining i wouldn't bother putting it up not to mention the wires and having to store it when i got a load. Also with having them install it i figure any warrenty issues wouldn't be pushed aside by the company saying well it was an install problem to blame the problem on me. It works great and as far as im concerned i got my money's worth. Leo i used to do the slingbox also it worked great untill my son moved and no longer had dsl.
