My contracted rate is .77/mile. I have only run 3 loads this month, all at .77/mi. and an average f.s.c. .213/mi.

June I ran 18 loads; 1 at .72 with a .23 f.s.c., 1 at .75 with a
.16 f.s.c., 1 negotiated flat rate Elite load and 1 dry run. All other loads were at .77 with an average f.s.c. of .19.

Mine is also .77 a mile, but my average FSC is .18 over the last two weeks, largely due to a 1144 mile run with a 10 cent FSC. That one was reduced rate at .70 a mile, too. I've had a couple of other loads that I negotiated a much higher rate, so overall it's .77 a mile and 18 FSC for the last two weeks.

so overall..we are looking at in and around .95 all inclusive...

Knowing P2's new rate at .70 which is WIDELY known...add on say .19 FSC and that would be around .89 all inclusive...

We also know the Feds is a flat of .85 PLUS the FSC at around .12....for again .97 all inclusive...

Funny you should bring up this subject today. I have been marveling at what rates have been the past couple weeks:

I'm on a load right now paying (linehaul and FSC) $1.11 on 877 miles.

Friday had one paying $1.17, for 650 miles.

The Granddaddy of them all was last weekend, 774 miles@ $1.38!! in a van! Woo Hoo! It was one oversized skid and delivered on the holiday so maybe that's why. In any event, I'm not complaining.
I haven't had a load pay less than .95 in over 2 weeks...

Last week:
2336 loaded miles
354 load related deadhead miles
$2205 total pay
.93 loaded miles rate
.81 total miles rate

We really should be looking at the numbers that include deadhead, because a great rate that requires lots of deadhead might not lead to a good rate.

I posted another snapshot of rates over in the Bolt Express carriers forum.

It is apparent to those who read here...you guys have our .80 all inclusive beat...

Humm, seems that .80 per mile is really eating at ya, or the lack of. So, who did you talk with that used the "all Inclusive" lingo? We are one of the bottom feeders now....sad.

I thought "all inclusive" sounded more la de la, rather then .70 plus FSC...it is not the .80 knawing at me..it is the principle..

You're welcome.

Where you been parked for the past 10 years, prison? Things are not improving. According to OVM Panther's rate to cargo vans is now at.70/mile.

Rates are dropping and related expenses are increasing. Sure a f.s.c. helps to cover fuel costs but what about the price increase for tires and other parts, hourly shop fees, insurance, tolls, food, socks and underwear, etc.

Until 2003 I was averaging over .97/mile. The next couple of years I was averaging over 1.01/mile. Then I took a hit to .80/mile and now .77/mile. I don't consider this an improvement. Had I been punching license plates for the past 10 years at .27/hour, then yeah, it's an improvement. Guess it's all in how you look at it.

the prisoners would still be making their .27 cents, where our rate came down...and to think the new Panthers are at .70 per mile...plus fsc...

Not sure what 'your purpose' is, but I'm thinking you should absolutely consider the DH miles in the offers and ask the pay for total miles run. Some carriers would not consider sending their drivers hundreds of miles to pick up a load. Some pay for every mile of DH, some over 50, some over 100, which all works into your total pay per mile and whether the load looks attractive or not. How about another post with the DH and DH pay included in the numbers?
