Do I need to register my wife as well or just me?

Posted with my Droid EO Forum App
Must be registered to get in...if your wife is attending she too must be signed up to get a name tag...

Thanks for voicing your opinion....I told ya so...;)

I just wanted to say a great big thank you to all the fellow vanners that voiced their opinion. The van-sprinter - box van is still the staple of expediting and a great entry level tool into this business.

Lawrence thanks for listening to the people and deciding to let this go on.

Reading the Vans 101 is cancelled thread, I got a good chuckle. Being a bit of a noob around here, I've found that most of you try and discourage the other noobs, I've seen come to the site and scare them away with "the market is saturated", "you can't make money" and just generally joking around in their threads instead of helping them.

But now you are all clamouring for a seminar to help bring more people into an already "saturated" industry as your competition.

Just a note from the sidelines.

Some may seem like they do that...don't misunderstand our intentions....we don't want people coming in and thinking they are going to make a fortune and spending what savings they have on a CV with expectations it is going to be easy.....
after all it is only a CV..how hard can it be....

The market IS saturated...that is a fact...

The problem as I see it, is most people think it will be easy money, sure you can buy a van for $5000 and start making money. Problem is most people don't take into account the lifestyle. I can't imagine anyone with kids wanting to be an expeditor. Most people don't realize in order to be profitable you'll need to be out 3, 4, 5 weeks or more and hometime will happen when you happen to be near your home. The other consideration is the amount of downtime compared to an OTR trucker. I think that is the reason we joke an around and seem so negative when new people come around and ask questions.
Really, what we are giving them is a reality check.
Can you make a living driving a van? Sure, are you going to get rich? probably not, but some do quite well...

Lets cut the cheese here......

Does Walmart tell Target how to make more money?

Everyone of us are independent contractors...every van/sprinter/cube that comes into the market is taking food off my table...chipping away at my money opportunities....
reality check....you think Iam going to say "sure come on into the pool the water is fine?" NOT

In a year from now I'd prefer you walk up to me and say...OVM you were wrong...I made it...and ya know what? I'd shake your hand and buy ya a coffee.:D...

I sleep better at night knowing I did not help someone bury themselves in debt and failure. I don't know how recruiters sleep?....
