Van Operations

Seasoned Expediter
I am new to expediting and have a question for any company that utilizes vans in their operations. I have been an independent contractor for the past four years pulling travel trailers around the country and am considering switching to expediting in a van. I am not interested in remaining in the same area of the country all the time (i.e. northeast or eastern seaboard), but would like to be able to travel around the country. My question is; Do companies that use vans have freight that allows the operator to go from coast to coast and north to south or are you restricted to one coast and/or one area of operation? Thanks for your replies in advanced.

DonnieKing;

The only thing that is "for sure" about Expediting is the uncertainty of when your next load will be, and where it will take you! Some days you will do locals, some days medium distance and yet others - cross country.

Keep in mind that no company is able to be the "perfect travel agent" to you, though most will make attempts to get you where (or close to) where you want to go.

Good luck in your ventures.
