I am at a loss here, at what point do we say "I am no longer making anything?" Even with our fuel surcharge?

I never know what the fuel surcharge is until I receive my settlement 2 weeks after load is delivered.

I have slowed my speed to 60 mph in ALL states, changed to a K&N air filter and have gained an extra 1.3 miles per gallon. But at the alarming rate of fuel price increases it means little if nothing.

Any answers?

JJ I'am in Ontario Can. I get 5% of the invoiced total.

Example: Customer billed 500 + 5%= 525 x 70%< my cut > = 367.50

( NOTE: As you see Boss gets 30% of my FUEL! the fuel charge should be added on after the cut cuzs it MY expense not his)

My company makes it simple and will tell me upfront what the bill would be.
