Some members have expressed concern with this company and the kind of freight they have. I noticed the banner for them that says "Be your own dispatcher" and "No risk" and "No commitment". Well, once freight is on my truck there's commitment. What happens when no one's there when you arrive? I'd call that risk. In general, ppl aren't as trustworthy as companies when it comes to appointments; and we all know how some companies are.

I can't see what this company has to do with expediting. Are we getting so desperate that we have to tote someone's ebay buy to make gas money home? I hope not.

If this post is pulled, I'll understand why. But IMO, it's not a good thing for EO.

I sell alot of ebay stuff including cars etc. What I have noticed is the extreme difference in price for shipping the larger things...I just sold an old 1920s goodyear sign that UPS wanted 90.00 to ship to CA.

The same package going via Fed-Ex ground was 29.00 and weighed 26 lbs...thats a huge difference! I had sold a bedroom set of furniture and the people wanted it shipped...to VA. if I rented a U-Haul and went up there and drove my towed car back it would still be over a grand and I probably wouldnt make anything but they got some company to pick it up here..take it to downtown, pack it in a drayage crate and ship it via LTL to VA for less than 300.00???

Thats an hour to drive out here, 30 mins to load it, an hour back, paying 3 guys that whole time...probably at least another hour wrapping the items in paper pads at their warehouse and crating it and then having the LTL carrier come get it, their time money and fuel etc?

I really dont understand how these companies can charge little or no money and survive let alone pay help.

Thawk,

The feedback we have received so far from uShip - and our EO visitors has been very positive.

For those who want to fill empty miles - they use it. For those whom it does not fit their business model - they don't use it.

I agree with you on this - it's not for everyone.
