Silica gel packets instruct you to throw them away (and not eat them), you can actually keep them for a variety of unexpectedly practical uses around the home. The other day I saw information for uses of these little gems and the lightbulb went on in my head. Now I will hoard them.
One use that I thought was practical for this time of year is to use a packet in a freshly carved pumpkin,
I will also use them in the boxes that contain my tax records that are down in our basement.
