More info here about this. If the trend is for companies like Amazon to build warehouses in all cities and deliver at lightning fast speed from them, it is good news for local courier companies and entrepreneurs on motorcycles. Maybe not so good news for Walmart. On the other hand, if the concept puts a dent in Walmart sales, some space in each Walmart store could be used to push lightening-fast deliveries out the door too.

Effect on expediting? Maybe some in increased cargo loads to the local warehouses. Otherwise, not much, methinks.
