If anyone is interested, the Beckhams now have a daughter, who they have named .....

wait for it .......

Harper Seven

 sounds like a surname and lucky number

I'm sure their sons, Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz (which the Spanish tried to tell the Beckams was a girls name in Spanish) are very pleased they have a sister.

What is the most unusual first name you have come across?

Just make up anything you want, like Loquatianika or whatever, and you'll be close to the winner and probably also close to someone(s)'s real name. Apparently the in thing is to see how far out you can be in choosing a name.

Not only unusual, but cruel, too: the Hogg named Ima. AKA 'The First Lady of Texas".
Nobody can top that, IMO. :D

Went to school with a girl named LaPrelle. Once met a guy named Shifty.

I know this is about first names, not last, but what the heck? I knew a guy with the last name of Quear. Pronounced queer, like you'd imagine. He had to spell out and explain it to everyone on the phone, tell them, "...and no, I'm not."

People don't realize what they're doing to their kids when they name them.

I don't know. The ones the Beckhams used are pretty tame, considering. Detroit is full of the "Who's Who of Random Scrabble Names." You just reach in and grab 10 tiles, then put em together in a jambalaya of funky name ecstasy! :D

I've always said names like that will makes bosses throw away applications. I was right. Hardly anyone in Detroit is working.

My nephew told me this lady named her two kids Lemonjello and Oranjello. I wanted to ask her her name... if it was Retardjello.

There was a student at a high school I subbed at about 10 years ago whose name, if spelled out would most likely get me banned. Pronounced Shhh-theed. (Like a "shush" in first syllable and with a long "E" sound in last syllable) Spelled like you can imagine. Have no idea what his parents were thinking. I had heard about it from my wife (teacher), but still amazed when I checked the attendance and there "it" was on the list. Still scratching my head over that one.

You forgot: after you've chosen a random bunch of letters, put 'La' or "Da' in front - makes it sound classy.

Puddinhead. [But her mother couldn't spell, either, so it said something else on the birth certificate.]:D
