uneven parking, would this hurt the truck?

I've been in some lots that are really uneven. It's not too big a deal unless it puts the head of the bed on the low side and can't be avoided. I was thinking a possible solution would be to put the dolly leg on the low side down onto a 2x4 and then dump the suspension air. My thought was the other side would lower down but the 2x4 would keep that side higher. Would that work and would it hurt the truck any to sit overnight without air in the suspension?

I would not twist the chassis..period. If you have to raise the entire truck use blocks under the front tires and lift the same side using blocks under landing gear, and be extremely careful. Safety first.

I guess it would also be easier to just drive up onto a 2x4 or 4x4 under both front and back wheels on that side.

wouldn't be just easier to sleep with your head on the up hill side of the truck instead of putting down 2x's

I was in a T/S one evening and overheard a driver fussing with management thusly:

He said he was assisted backing into a tight spot in front of a fence at the rear of a pot-holed area of the parking lot. He was pleased that the stranger guided him into the spot. When he returned his rear axle wheels on one side were missing and he realized the the good samaritan had maneuvered him so his wheels were located over a pot hole and easily removed.

It would seem that any truck leveling would consider the above.

There are three issues with that. One, the tv is only viewable with your head at the head of the bed which is no big deal because you could turn around. Two, the controls for lights, generator, the clock, etc. are permanently at the head of the bed and three, it would seem like sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed. That one would seem too strange just like doing it at home.

i too like to park with the head of the bed on the uphill side. this is what dictates whether i pull in or back into a parking space. DD. :7 :7

Sometimes you can't tell until you are in which side is the uphill side though.. and by then I don't want to fool with turning around.. not to mention sometimes you could almost lose your spot if you pull back out of it.

I picked up a couple of levels from Camping World. One of these I attached to the windshield.I can tell at a glance if I need to turn around or relocate. My co-driver is especially sensitive to as level a spot as possible.
