No, not exponentially different but still a statistically recognizable number.

Oh like my cop killing numbers where more US cops killed last year alone then in 115 YEARS total in Great Britain..that is staggering....

Thinking Why is that...a social thing? Maybe Britains cop killers never make it to trial and the word is out? who knows?

They have much different sentenceing guidlines then we do.Kill anyone over there and get a conviction over there and it is automatic life in prison,With only one appeal. Some of the prisons that killers are sent to over there make america's prisons look like candy land. When you get life over there for murder that is what you do there is no 20 years and then parole, you die in prison. It is not about the prisoners rights over there its about the victims over there.Heck they hand out life sentences to child molesters over there none of this 2-4 years and get counseling crap.

Up untill 1969 the sentence for murder was automaticly the death penalty. With one appeal. It did not take 10-20 years to carry out the sentence. Also alot of the evidence that a accused is allowed to present here in the US is not allowed over there.Just look at the amanda knox trial.

Seems to make all the difference in the world doesn't it?

Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 26 years, not life. Also, she was tried in Italy, not the UK.

Not really, when you consider the number of cops in each country and each country's total population. Also, if you delve deeper into the numbers you'll see that the majority of cops "killed" in both countries were killed in automobile accidents, not as a result of criminal assault. When you boil it down to cops killed as a result of criminal violence, there is nonetheless a somewhat staggering disparity between the two, where a significantly higher percentage of US cops are killed in gun related deaths than are UK cops. And if you stop looking there it's rather easy to draw conclusions. However, the police in Northern Ireland have always traditionally been armed, just like the US cops. The gun related deaths of Northern Ireland cops more closely mirror that of the US cops. One could conclude that the cops having guns, and not the criminals, is the primary factor here.

Yes it does.

You are right and I should of explained my point better. The point was we coddle the people accused of murder here out of fear that we my violate their rights. The court system today in this country is more concerned of the criminals rights then they are of the victim. When knox was found guilty there were experts here that said if she would have been tried here she would have been allowed to bring up much more in her defence then she was allowed to over there. They face a much harsher court system over there does not matter if it is Italy or the uk.

Are you referring to the same cop killing numbers that were pointed out to be skewed and completely different statistics were used?

They have a different society, so I would expect the 79 years of the British having gun control laws were created for a whole set of problems that no one here seems to mention.

On top of that, as I mentioned a few times before, they lead in stabbings and assaults way above us.
