word of warning.........

had a couple fill ups that we did not have time to get the points added. the diesel fuel desks were in a separate location from the gas desk.

today when i called t-a customer service for the gallons to be added to my card i was told that t-a is phasing out the ability to call cs and have it done later.

i followed up with an e-mail to the t-a and await an answer.

Re: ultra one 2nd chance points policy change

They have been phasing out the ability to add the points with a phone call for a few weeks now. I don't have an issue with that. While it would be alot easier for the transaction to be registered at the pumps, who else in this industry is doing anything for the GAS purchasers at this time!?!? Our old froend figured we weren't worth the effort at all....So i guess the inconvenience of having to sometimes go around the corner and or across the parking lot is something we can tolerate until or if TA gets the pumps up to date to read the cards at the pump....

Most of the time I go to the truck fuel pumps to fuel my Sprinter I have a comdata card, yes would be nice if we could use comdata and ultra one card at the pumps out front but then again not all T A have diesel pumps out front

Re: ultra one 2nd chance points policy change

The ability to call Customer Service and have points added was a new thing that was added for the UltraONE card rollout, specifically to deal with problems of the new program. In the past, if you didn't swipe your card at the pump or have the fuel desk god swipe it at the time of the transaction, you were SOL as the points would not be added later. The last thing Customer Service wants to have to deal with is a bunch of drivers calling in wanting their points added because they failed to swipe the card at transaction time.

sorry turtle but the gas vans have no chance to swipe the u-1 card at time of purchase. the software does not work yet in the front pumps.

It is the pits when the fuel desk does not do the second chance right and says they did had this happen 4 times at T/a Especially since us gas burners can only do second chances as of now Hope T/a Reads these

I know. I'd take the credit card and the UltraONE card into the clerk to get the pumps turned on, even though the front desk clerk usually can't process the UltraONE card, but I'd give it to them anyway. They'll say they can't process it up there, that you'll have to go to the fuel desk. That puts the ball back in their court, so to speak, and should get some of the front desk clerks whining about it, too.

But my point was, you can't count on calling into Customer Service and have them do it. If you want the points, especially now that they're double points, hold their feet to the fire and get a Points Receipt, same as you would at the fuel desk or the ProntoPay card reader (when they have paper in them).

You can, however, have them fax the receipt to CS with your card number (I just have them copy my card along with the receipt) and they'll load the points that way. The lady at CS told me they can no longer do it over the phone but will from a fax. A TA I was at this week didn't have separate desks for fuel and gas, yet she said she had no way to add points through second chance. The icon was taken off her computer.

Re: ultra one 2nd chance points policy change

Are all 87 octanes equal?
Yeah. Cetane can vary from batch to batch, as it's a distilled product, but gasoline is a manufactured product and is manufactured to specific standards. So whatever the octane rating is, you can count on it being what it says.

There are also "Top Tier" gasolines that meet certain industry standards for detergents and cleaning ability, but that only happens with manufactured gasoline, where detergents and other additives are permissible. The only permitted additive in diesel is anti-gel. Sometimes you'll see "premium" diesel advertised as helping to keep your engine clean, and that's true, but it's because the diesel is a higher cetane and not because detergents have been added.

Here is some OFFICIAL clarification on this policy:

The second chance program allows our UltraONE Expediter members to have purchases of gas, diesel fuel or truck services added to their account if their UtlraONE Expediter card was not swiped at the time of purchase. UltraONE Expediter members can present their UltraONE Expediter card and fuel or service receipt to the attendant at the shower desk or truck service center at their next stop at any TA or Petro location to receive credit for their purchase.
