BWAHAHAHAH !

Seriously, ya literally just can't make this **** up - outstanding timing !!!

"The United States is pleased to announce that it will host UNESCO's World Press Freedom Day event in 2011 ...

The United States places technology and innovation at the forefront of its diplomatic and development efforts. New media has empowered citizens around the world to report on their circumstances, express opinions on world events, and exchange information in environments sometimes hostile to such exercises of individuals' right to freedom of expression.

At the same time, we are concerned about the determination of some governments to censor and silence individuals, and to restrict the free flow of information."

Oh reeeeaaaally ?

(Rumor has it, Joe Lieberman will be the Keynote Speaker ....)

And it gets even better ..... it looks as though someone (gee, I wonder who that could be ?) is doing something to bury the comments (100% negative and I read over 100 of them) on the Facebook page, posting multiple items on the "Wall" to make the ones with comment in them move to the bottom of the list and "disappear" ....

Posted 8 minutes ago:

"Due to the large number of comments, the conversation has been moved. Please refer to our Terms of Use tab, and feel free to continue the exchange in our “discussion” tab. News and updates on World Press Freedom Day 2011 will continue to be posted on the wall for everyone seeking information on this International event. Thank you!"

The most absurd and hilarious line from above is:

"The United States places technology and innovation at the forefront of its diplomatic and development efforts."

You'd think they'd apply just a little bit of that technology and innovation to their diplomatic cables.

Heheheh .... good observation ... ;)

As I've commented before, it's almost like they must post job ads that read as follows:

Job Title: Department Spokeperson
Job Description: Handles Public Relations for the Department with The Media, writes Press Releases
Qualifications Required: Must be a Moron

Reading the Press Releases and listening to the Press Conferences gives very good insight into how utterly stupid these people truly are ....
