Twisted messages?

I read all about the big to do about nothing where Billy Ray apologized for his indiscretion on not having Hanna Montana buckled up while filming her on the way to a rehearsal (was he driving while he was filming her?). I don't think he should have apologized but made a point to make sure that it never happens again by grounding her from any more Hanna performances.

At first the complaints originate from the People rag's blog but others have been vocal on his decision not to demand the brat wears her seat belt.

But the bigger issue is that this is a non-issue, and the complaints seem to based on the fact that a lot of parents seem to think that leading by example is important to show the little Hanna want to bes how to act.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the importance of seat belts but really let's be real here, in the bigger picture of things this is a non-starter of an issue and there seems to be a big discrepancy in how parents act and their lack of concern over other stars that 'little girls' look up to when a lot worst happens.

I am glad that we are not reading about Hanna moving in with her boyfriend at 15 and getting knocked up at 16 and the father is 18 years old - by the way that show is back on the air and I am wondering where is everyone fighting to get that show off and keep it off the air.

Billy Ray faces the same dilemma that alot of other parents of child stars face. It's hard to make a kid mind when they are the bread winner of the family. Let's face it Billy Ray has tried to make a come back, but he was pretty much a one hit wonder with Achy Breaky Heart. Therefore I don't see where he has that much money coming in.

Parents should be the ones who provide for the family. In cases like this and the Spears family the roles get reversed and the kids are the providers. Then you have a dysfunctional family. Tell the kid what to do and then they cut off the money supply and you have to go back to work. I'm sorry I'm not a big fan of parents of child stars. To me they are pimps nothing more and nothing less. They pimp their kids out to the highest bidder. Whether it be an agent, the paparazzi, or like the kid off of Home Alone getting pimped out by his parents to go stay the night with Michael Jackson. I know I don't have kids, but if I did there is no way in hell they would be a child star. If they have true talent at 8 they will have it at 18 or 28.

Plus I think if you teach your kids right they will do what's right regardless. I'm tired of hearing that the t.v. and internet are to blame because some kids don't know how to act. The problem is people want to compromise and play with their kids when their kids don't act right. A prime example of this is when a kid is acting a fool in public I hear adults asking a kid would they please behave. Then the kid says no really loud. Then the parent says you are going in time out when we get home. Time is a freaking joke if you ask me. IMO grounding a kid is another game that gets played too much. My parents knew 2 punishments one was whoop that arse and the other was the same as the first. If people would blister that behind, as my mother so affectionately called it, it wouldn't matter what hanna, or jamie lynn, or brittney did they would be scared to act up. Come to think of it I might call my parents tonight and thank them for not having weak, bleeding hearts and beating my a$$.

No offense greg, but that's a shock. Guess I'm not used to people agreeing with my veiws.

Why would that be a shock, I agree with a lot of what you say but I got to just throw in some things so I seem more boring than anyone else. :)

Good to go. Sounds like a plan to me. Piper you talk about it's amazing what is classifed as news. Have you ever seen the show TMZ? The wife and I streamlined the budget awhile back. Part of making our budget more aerodynamic was ditching satelite. So now we have bunny ears sitting on the tv. Anyway. Our selection is limited, and night this TMZ show comes on. It's pretty much a paparazzi show. They talk about the stars going out to eat, party, drink, and fighting amongst themselves. I just sit back and laugh. I hate the show, but find it funny that so many people actually care so much about that bs.

I could care less what they do. I think its funny that people think they are so important. I'm younger than most here, and must admit when I was a teen I thought Brittney was all that and a bag of chips as they say. Not any more.

But Ark, Brittney represents the yut of the america... she with her new found excuse why she has gone off the deep end is attracting attention from many more celebrities to rally support behind mental illness. I would love to see honest discussions about mental health take place by the elite in this country but I think because there are hints of Britteny being bi-polar (and who isn't?) that it may be a passing fad for some like the hybrid hummer. Everyone out there is mental in some way or another.

Britteny is a mess because of her fame where everyone caved on her demands and party like a rock star 24/7 lifestyle for most of her life - it all caught up to you babe, didn't it.

In truth what she needs is just to shed the wealth, get a hold of a copy of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, meet with Sogyal Rinpoche to have him help her find the right path.

In other news, Jamie LynnSpears has signed a contract for another 10 episodes of Zoey101 and will give birth to her kid on the show live and the following shows will showcase an unwed teenager's plight through the harsh welfare system to get on welfare and food stamps while living at her parents house. according to Nickelodeon spokes person Lynn Spears.

Greg,
You are kidding about the Zoey 101 part, right?

What, you think that was a joke?

Yes I am.

I think you understand that the whole point of my thread is that we have lowered our standards and what is right or wrong.

Spears, all four of them are class acts not to follow but people are so enthralled with Britteny that they over look their own lives and troubles by trying to connect with her or to feel equal to her.

Truthfully I have something against marketing of young children like Hanna Montana because of the lack of concern when it comes to exploiting kids for money. To me Disney is about the same as the coyotes running kids across the border to sell.

Here we have Billy Ray getting in trouble for a seat belt but the state of California sent a clear message that they will not prosecute someone for statutory rape all the while parents are not demanding that cable companies pull Nickelodeon off their channel roster but will complain when they see Hanna without her belt on.

Well as crazy as things are getting I could believe the thing about the Zoey 101 show. That's the sad thing about it. In a few years there will most likely be a show with that exact plot.

Honestly, they should cancel her contract and pull the show.

There is no reason that it should be aired or even put on DVD - just hit the delete button.

Well I guess I shouldn't say much about the whole age thing between Jamie Lynn and her boyfriend. When I was 19 I was dating my 1st Sgt's daughter who was 17. Although I did now better than to get her knocked up. I actually took her to her prom dressed in my dress blues.

Ark, there is a slight difference with that. I bet you she didn't have parents that were sponging off of her wealth and didn't care about what she did at 15, like moving in with the guy. AND I bet you that she wasn't a role model for millions of girls who idolize her as the person to be.

Not really, but she was hot. On that note I better shut up. You know. Just in case the wife sees this somehow.
