Turkey opens fire on Syria

Turkey says it has fired artillery against targets inside Syria after Syrian shells killed five people in a Turkish border town.

The Turkish military shelled Syrian targets identified by radar near the border, the office of PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a statement.

Nato said it would hold an urgent meeting over the incident

Unfortunatley that's not new. It happens several times a year and has been going on for years. Turkey is a modern day Muslim state and their people like to be pro western to a certain point. The Iranians would like to be the same way if they could get rid of the crazy Islamists. Turkey would love to get rid of our Nuclear weapons we have their but they don't want to get rid of our money.

I'm sorry but I do not see any of what you are saying in the linked report.

Syria attacked and killed Turkish citizens and, according to the report, this is the first time in the 18 month Syrian conflict that Turkey has opened fire.

"The military alliance's ambassadors would meet under Article 4 of the Nato charter, which provides for consultations when a member state felt its territorial integrity, political independence or security was under threat, a Nato official said."
