Steve Doocy from Fox and Friends says, "it would be easy to fake". Incredibly stupid or an attempt at a disgusting joke? You decide. First, your moment of Zen:

I DVR'd(is that a word?) Jon Stewart's show to see his interview with Rand Paul and saw the above Moment of Zen clip of Doocy and couldn't believe he said what he did. So I wanted to watch the whole clip, just to make sure it was in context. Unbelievably, it was. Not only that, they had to apologize for the false reporting of the story. These three have got to be the biggest moron's on morning television. Here's the story from Mediaite with video.

Steve Doocy Suggests Beating TSA Test By ‘Putting Someone Else’s DNA In Your Mouth’

Earlier this week Fox and Friends reported with reasonable outrage from — both the show’s co-hosts and viewer email — that the TSA was considering collecting DNA samples via Q-tip swab from the mouths of prospective airplane passengers. Steve Doocy pointed out how easy it would be to fake, saying “all you gotta do is put someone else’s DNA in your mouth.” This morning Fox and Friends apologized, but not for Doocy’s awkward suggestion of how to cheat the test, but for reporting that on something that isn’t actually news.

In recent weeks there have been a number of conservative websites picked up the story of TSA collecting DNA until Media Matters pointed out that the TSA blog clarified that the government agency was not testing the scanner, and had no plans to use DNA testing.

DHS S&T expects to receive a prototype DNA analyzer device this summer to conduct a preliminary evaluation of whether this kind of technology could be considered for future use. At this time, there are no DHS customers, nor is there a timeline for deployment, for this kind of technology – this is a simply a preliminary test of how the technology performs.

Again, TSA is not testing and has no plans to use any technology capable of testing DNA.

The real question though, "Is Doocy just that stupid or was what he said an utter failure of trying to be funny?" Enquiring minds want to know.

Couldn't all this have been said at one point about the porno scanners in airports now? And it probably was...back when we thought we were free.
