BINDER....International Truck

OK redy, how or why did truckers come up with Binder for the International?

We have Dry vans, reefers, flatbeds, Drom boxes covered. Does anyone have a contribution for Step deck, drop deck, Goose neck, or other specialty truck/trailer types?

I'm no farm boy but International as in International Harvester made agricultural equipment as well as trucks. I'm guessing the "binder" comes from a corn chopper and binder.

At one time I was the proud owner of a 1963 3/4 ton IH. That was one indestructible pick up truck. Well almost indestructible.

Also you forgot Monfort Lane again.

Internationals are sometimes called Corn Binders then that got shortened down to Binders.

All of the specialty RGNs and stepdecks and all get called skateboards like flatbeds do to sometimes. Just like grain trailers get called hopper bottoms,grain wagons, and covered wagons.

Those expandable flatbeds and stepdecks get called trombones alot to.
