Rex, I have that covered as my brother in law has his own CPA firm. And has set my accounting up for me, he has several OTR clients. I have also talked to a tax lawyer on Whether to go LLC, C Corp or sole-proprietorship etc.

Congratulations on the new truck and especially on how you've handled the financial aspects of it. Murphy will probably leave you alone because you are prepared to handle him so what's his fun in that. Good luck with whoever you sign with.

Dpea9, if you're from Fairbanks I'm not sure Bolt or Tristate is a good choice. Do you have relation in the Toledo area?
Hardly ever freight out of Alaska, and only a few companies that can get you freight out of the west coast.

Dave thanks for the info. But I am leaving Alaska after being here for 25yrs. winters are a bit much anymore. I will be finding an apartment in a smaller community in the ohio valley but I just don't know where yet.Let me know if you know of such a place. So the truck is my home.

Thanks

You can't get much better help than Dave M has just offered. A contact in the vicinity of your next relocation destination is invaluable. We highly recommend you take advantage of Dave's offer.

As a career military guy, I've relocated family and belongings to unfamiliar areas, including Kodiak, AK, about a dozen times. Moving to a new community is always a challenge; particularly finding acceptable nearby schools, hospitals, stores etc. You need to make a lot of right choices before you ever get there.

I've always found it helpful to subscribe to a couple of local newspapers so you can get a feel for your prospective neighborhood. A call to the nearby Chamber of Commerce will get you a ton of pamphlets and information. If you're driving to the lower 48, a service such as AAA is a must for peace of mind. If you have it, you won't need it and if you don't have it you'll breakdown somwhere in northern Montana. Triple A is also a good source of information for travelers. Another good source is the internet, of course, so check this site; it has some info on your next home town: www.epodunk.com

Good luck with your choice of neighborhhood, Trucking company and truck vendor.

Hi

I live in Cambridge OH.I'll keep an eye out.You just missed a great place.67 acres, 3 bedroom, full basement, truck parking, 8 minutes from I70 and 10 minutes from I77.$450.00 per month + utilities.I moved out of there last month and they just got a renter into it last week. Byesville Oh. is another place you might want to look at.No truck parking in town, but they have a payed truck parking lot just south of I77.Also Byesville doesn't have city income tax, Cambridge does. All 3 school districts in Guernsey county have new schools.Good luck.
