We too are reserved. Hoping to just camp this time with all the other trucks. And I'm gonna do my best to be early enough for those concert tickets.

Got my res, also. Plan on going down early Saturday morning and killing the day there, then heading home that evening.

Can't leave Squeaky The Cat alone for too long, he gets lonely.

You sure are not going to see much in one day! That show is huge last year we spent two full days there and still didnt see it all. This year will be there when the show opens on Thursday until it closes on Saturday and we hope to see it all this time. There are so many vendors and trucks at the show it is impossible to see it all. There is also a huge amount of expediters at the show and every time you go near Lawrence's area you will meet someone new. Truly a lot of fun really warms you up for the Expo in July.

I hope to go again this year. I enjoyed it last year but didn't get to see it all. It's a great chance to see friends you don't get to see too often.

Bob & Linda,
With the east wing being closed for renovations will this effect location of Expediters Online?
It took me 3 days just to get my sense of direction as I was mesmerized by all the trucks, gear and everything else on display.

John we where also wondering the same thing and if we where going to have to park in a different area. The Pride and Polish show has also been moved and I cant imagine them parking in the lot that has so much mud. We parked in the pay lot last year so we would be able to take our dog for a walk easier. I sure Lawrence will get on here and give us all the details of how the Expediters area will be set up.

I'm hoping to go again this year as well. I really enjoyed it last year. I parked in the mud into a corner spot, up on a bit of gravel. The last day pulled outa that lot and drove a couple blocks over... I went over to the stadium and got to talk to OOIDA members who put together a HUGE BBQ and it was great. I did not have to pay at either lot. Sunday morning the OOIDA members and other non-member fellow drivers were out there picking up trash in the lot. The CB was lit up the entire time, inviting drivers over here and there and everywhere for parties along with directions.

I don't know what I'll pull up in this year. Last year it was a Swift truck, this year I hope to be on with an O/O so I have less hometime issues and actually make money when I'm on the road. I'm married this year, but my wife won't go - she thinks it's bogus and don't understand... oh well. I'm still going. I'll be there.
I had a blast last year, got to meet some great people who thought Big Bus Bob was HUGE and he turned out to be not so BIG.

I got to learn about all kinds of new products. Overall, personally, I just got a deeper love for the transportation industry in general by attending the Kentucky Truck Show. I really enjoyed the expediters section. The show really can not be seen in 2 days, all I got last year was 2 days, and that was not enough time.

Please do NOT think you can take it all in within 2 days, I am not the 1st one to say it... and won't be the last person to say it. You can NOT and WILL NOT see the entire show in 2 days, with OUT skipping something or some section. It's well worth the drive, the time, and the money and hassle to go to Louisville in March for the show.

It is smart to plan ahead for the Louisville truck show. Hotels and reserved parking spots fill up early for this spectacular event.

It pains me to say it, but I don't think Diane and I will be attending this year. Having attended every year since 2003, we have gained much from the show in terms of industry and truck research and professional networking. Now that we're in the truck we want and have over three years on the road, the value of a show visit has decreased some. Our focus this year is on production.

In terms of minimal down time and maximum revenue opportunity, 2007 is looking good. We're in a newer truck that we expect to run well through 2007. Other than normal maintenance, there should be no time lost to truck down time in 2007.

We have only three reasons to go home in 2007; driver's license renewals for each of us and Christmas. With luck, we'll be able to take care of our licenses with just one trip home, not two.

All of our training and equipment testing with our carrier is up to date. We have no need to go out of service and deadhead to FedEx Custom Critical HQ in 2007.

Except for some very unusual kinds of freight, we are truck-equipped and driver-credentialled to haul every kind of freight FedEx can put on a CR-unit.

With down-time minimized, freight opportunities maximized and very little to take us out of service, 2007 looks for an especially-good year for us to make hay while the sun shines.

While we could take a break for the Louisville truck show and would love to attend, we hate debt more. The desire to pay off our truck and the benefits of being debt free outweigh the desire to attend the truck show and enjoy its benefits.

Still, it is a difficult choice to make. The truck show is a fantastic event. It saddens us to miss it.

Not sure if I'll make the truck show this year or not, more than likely not... due to a 2 month tour that'll I'll most likely be runnin' across Canada in a private coach. Don't know the name of the group, all I know is it's a Christian rock band... so I'm told there won't be any smokin' or drinkin' or wildness onboard -
HA! I don't know how to handle a group like that!

It runs from the west coast of the US and up into western Canada and touring east to Eastern Canada and the eastern US.
March and April. I've only run Ontario and Quebec, Canada, so it should be interesting - I've heard stories from truck and tour bus drivers alike about western Canada and it's lovely winter weather.

I'll keep you posted, because if it don't run then I'll be goin' to the truck show.

I'm almost makin' it to the Super Bowl, doing a Pre Super Bowl Party on Saturday nite, the band wants to be back in Greenville, SC on Sunday to see the Super Bowl on TV at home. Talk about runnin'... I'm actually runnin' team with the mechanic 'cause it's so tight... so I won't have no worries if anythin' goes funky on me.

Later, BigBusBob

If I can make it, I will - it's a cool place to be, and to meet people, and to walk your lil tootsies off, and there's enough chrome to make even Dieselphreak happy, and a great concert - just an all around good time. And if you come away with some new toys, or ideas on how to make your ride more comfortable, or efficient, or just some new people to call friends, it's worth the trip. :)

I'll be stopping by if I'm in the neighborhood. Things have been a bit sluggish, to say the least, this month and if I'm running good I'll keep going.

Yahoo! We just ordered our tickets for our very first truck show! Now I'm nervous about the parking situation. I keep reading about the mud and the parking problems so I'm nervous about it but somehow we will get there. Hope we get to meet everyone who has been helping us here on EO!

No scare on the parking. If it is crowded or muddy, go to the stadium parking lot. It is paved, and they run shuttles back and forth.

Don't forget to throw in that the stadium usually has OOIDA members throwing a big party with free food. Drivers with drivers, it's fun!
The stadium is all paved... watch curbs, trucks with longer wheel bases have trouble making the 1st couple turns into the stadium.
