truck class and central ca.

this may sound dum but for 35 years i drove 18 wheelers, so can someone tell me what class a b c d and so on mean? also if i want to get in this do you think as a solo i could run out of fresno to bakers field stocton? thank you miky:)

There are no foolish questions on this site, unless you ask: "can you make any money expediting?"

Usually, a carrier defines a Truck and it's cargo carrying capacity as A, B, C, D, and E

A = pickup or mini-van with a capacity of one cube (4' x 4' x 4') or 500 pounds or less.

B = Cargo Van capable of carrying two cubes, not exceeding 2500 pounds.

C = Small straight truck with a cargo capacity of 5000 ponds and be dock high.

D = Large dock high straight truck with a capacity of 13,000 pounds

E = Tandem axle tractor with a cargo capacity of 44,000 pounds.

Example: One pallet weighing 1000 pounds would be a B load.
