Hey All,

I am looking to get back into driving I prefer solo, had bad team experience.

How is Tri-state? I worked for them driving a straight truck thru a OO.

Or for Tri- State as a company driver. Do they offer that?

Maybe Fed Ex?

I have no criminal or accident records.

Where is a good place to start? (again)

And anyone who has gone thru orientation through Tri -State maybe give me

some info. I.E. hours etc.And what to bring .

I had a woman a owner of a van fro Tri-State (Veronica) call and offer me a job

to start Monday, without even meeting with me.... I think kinda strange? or...

But the last time I was hired was about the same kinda...

Thanks for any info.

I have never had to meet anyone before I was cleared for orientation at any of my previous companies.

We have a friend who is a solo st at TS. He seems to be happy, he has been there for quite a while.

Vans are running very slow so far this year from driver's input...if u can do sprinter or higher, I'd look at load1 or multi-carrier operators

Tri State is not a bad company at all.

However, I feel an obligation to give an honest opinion of my experience with ST over there. PM for details?

Ready haven't heard anything good about US Express expedite side nor its a good idea cause they just started the expedite gig and don't think they build up enough business for expedite loads.

I talk to them several months ago, at that time they had a very bad program for expediting and was told by the recruiter they only had 5 st8 trucks. I went with Load 1 and am happy with my choice...

Don't quite understand all the questions about Tri-State if you've already been with the company. I would think you'd already know the in's and outs on the company or who to contact with your questions. I drove for an owner who was leased with T-State and I enjoyed every minute of it. They were a fair company, at least to me. But that was a few yrs ago, I imagine things have changed as with all companies. As far as the owner who wanted to put you in a van right away I'd say be careful. They seem a little desperate to hire you. Actually I wouldn't want to drive for someone who is more worried about putting me in the vehicle than at least doing a little background chk first. I would definitely check them out before signing anything.

Been doing this a lot of years and lurking this site for a while. It is a good place to start research but you really do need to talk with people to cut through the BS. Almost pulled he trigger to go with one of the companies that ha a bunch of fan boys on this site. Then started talking to drivers in person and got a real picture of how company has favorites, inflates truck count and has revolving door of customers.

now tri state (who I'm not with) seems to treat people fair. Maybe not the best company but also not blowing smoke just to get you to come on. They do seem to have a good customer base. And a good balance of freight, not all auto.

If I ever got back into expediting T-State would be my first choice, at least in a straight.
